This is for everyone who gets bad shin bang, go to your shop and see if they can put absorbic padding on the FRONT of the tongue of your boot, this makes it so your shin can't be pushed forward or something like that. I wasn't really listening why it works, but I have been using it for about 3 days now, and I can feel improvement.

Try wrapping your shins with a tensor bandage, it works amazingly, and you don't have to fuck with your boots.

^^ shavin legs helps with the irritation you get cause the boots pull out ur leg hair. shin bag is when you short a jump too many times or ski a pow day on centermounted skis (ME) and have to lean back all the time and your shins and calfs hurt alot. youll know if you have it it hurts to have ski boots on nevermind actually skiing in comfort. I wanna get those dr sholls foot gel thins and try that maybe heat it up and mold it to my shin....

i find with any boot shin bnag is a problem but if you wear in your boots alot it seems to help.also keep the buckles loose, except the pwer strap, tighten that up as much you can if possible buy a better power strap in a shop

you can just use any sort of foam padding (probably about 1cm thick would work best for most people. just use good glue when you glue them to your tongues. and make sure the foam isnt too dense, and can be bent fairly easily.

Boot bang happens when you're boots are too big around the calf. You're calf and front of your leg is slamming around the top of your boot when landing. Essentially, by putting padding in the front of your boot, you are tightening up your upper cuff. If you are still getting boot bang, you can add another spoiler to the back of your boot and it will tighten up the boot more, while giving you a little more forward lean. It will also keep you're heel in the cockpit of the boot better giving you more control. The biggest mistake people make when tightening boots is having the upper cuff loose and tightening the toe box to much. You should have the two upper cuff buckles tight and the bottom two buckles loose. All the bottom two buckles do is keep the shell waterproof. So, when putting on your boots, tighten the top two buckles, then do your power strap, then tighten your two lower buckles just enough to overlap the shell. Bootbang will subside and you will have much more control.

I agree with you for the most part, but I do think you should have your feet secured to the bottom of your boot. Every snapped regular shoes into your skis? Half the reason that doesn't work is because you have no pressure over your feet. I also think more padding in the rear of your calf should help the shin bang while keeping you forward.

yea, the memory foam on the tounge helps...and the guy talking about your heel being secure is exactly right. any custom boot fitter can put something on your tounge and increase your heel cup so your foot doesn't lift. i've done all this and with the booster strap to, and i havent had a problem since.
