You do realize that for a Police Constable to respond to a murder, rape and/or terrorists, that they have to be told it is happening right? Cops cannot predict the future nor can they just sense that on the other side of the city someone is being raped. Give me a break.I have been on patrol a couple of times with the Ottawa Police Service, so i am saying this from first hand experience. If no-one is calling in anything, then they have nothing to respond to! It's simple logic. So therefore they have time to enforce traffic laws, and patrol high crime areas. Basically, it is the publics obligation to contact emergency services in their times need and in the mean time when the calls are quite, police will continue to enforce traffic, property and other such laws while on patrol. And dont give me the "oh there's no point in calling the police they take so long blah blah they dont care". EVERY time I have been on patrol, the police constables drop everything they are doing (even one time they let a speeder go because a more important call that came in during the traffic stop) and respond to whatever is priority. Understand as-well, that there are different priority settings for different situations witch regulate how much time it should take to respond. And back to the original topic:simple. no speeding. no consequencesI got a speeding ticket once. What did I learn? Well, if I go the speed limit, i dont have to pay a ticket!Have some accountability for your misjudgments. Its not the end of the world and people make mistakes. Learn from your mistakes, It makes life run much smoother.
