So thanks to Ettiene, who sent me some footage from Faction webisode shootings. I decided to use my Movie Maker and show my mad editing skills again to share this with you guys.. These trips were absolutely unforgetable. That is also the reason I made this... As you can see, some of the shots were already used, some not and it´s pretty long. I just thought that it would be worth it, to use most of the shots. And show you also some B roll and footage that would never be published.. (WHO CAN SPOT A FLYING PIECE OF SHIT IN THE VIDEO?) RAW ROOTS is a three-part drop of my raw clips from Faction's 2021 ski movie ROOTS, including shots that didn't make the final cut. The first episode is from the shoot at the famous Swiss resort of Verbier, which also happens to be Faction's home mountain.

I spent a bit more time on my blades this summer, because Covid made skiing impossible. This is the collection of shots i managed to get during this summer which i spent in Prague. I wish I could film more. But this gave me a lot motivation to actually concentrate on a propper blading project for next summer. Gotta start somewhere right? Hope you'll enjoy.

After a little break due to my knee injury, the new Smelly Socks episode is actually, and also finally, happening! This time I decided to step out off my snowpark enviroment and visit the mecca of deep powder skiing - Japan. And ski my first real powder, on real pow skis with some of my real best friends like Antti Ollila - also first time pow, Zuzicka Stromkova and Martin Bernard behind the lens ofcourse. It's been a great experience for sure, thanks to our local connection, guide and sick skier Mr. Gen Sasaki. I'm really hyped to present you the teaser, for the last Smelly Socks episode, Sayonara.

In March 2022, the inaugural Danihell Hanka Invitational welcomed twelve unique skiers from across the freeski spectrum to Daniel Hanka’s home resort of Destne, Czechia. Their mission: to enjoy a week-long, no-rules session on a special park setup envisioned by Daniel, and to bring back a touch of the flavor and style from the times before skiing was dominated by rules, regulations and organizations.
“With this invitational, I would love to bring back the old-school park session and do an event that will actually satisfy the core of our ski community,” says Daniel. “My skiing is really character oriented, so I would like to appreciate all the other skiers that are working this way. That’s pretty much the point of the Danihell Hanka invitational.

I finally got official license plates, so I was able to head over to Astria's one and only Innsbruck. Where we're suppose to ski famous park above IBK and have a blading session too. Over 700km was a real test for the Wildcat but with poor planning and some little fails, that was not the only test on our way.

Welcome to Czech Republic....A few laps at local ski resort. There was more mud and rocks on the slope than snow.. But still, it was fun day, and what can be better than ski in jeans and shades, while having some beer with friends huh? Shot on gopro, edited by myself via movie maker.
The season has been pretty meh in Europe as America has stolen all the snow from us. We decided we wanna go to Kronplatz to enjoy some serious spring laps. However... Weather sucked but we managed to have 1 good and 1 ok sweet spring days through week long window. Daniel fell sick after day 1 and had to leave home. Jan arrived after Daniel's departure, but hurt his knee during his first day of skiing. Considering our "luck" this episode turned out way better then we were thinking it would be.

This time crazy freezing temperatures tried, but didn't manage to stop us from tapping the sh!t out of Sunshine Village snowpark features. After 14 hours drive and some more struggles, I finally menage to get to Mottolino park and join homies James Woods, Ian Rocca and Luca Minninger for a good old spring session in the park.
Finally made it to Absolut park to get some quality ski time
Winter is coming in hot, and I´m 6 months after my ACL and meniscus surgery... After long time of pretty much not doin anything except workouts, long gym sessions and all the boring stuff.. I finally felt comfortable enough and deciced to fully test my knee in a skatepark. Hard impacts, pops, crashes, goin fast, doin tricks... The knee feels good and i think I´m ready to get back on skis in full power again! And HOPEFULLY to film new season of Smelly Socks!

We decided to film this during a windy day after the Vars tournament - unfortunately, it was impossible to hit the pro line. Nothing special, no big deal.. Just one run at one of the sickest park in Europe I guess.. If you´re intresed in my skiing - follow me on instagram @danielhanka peace
The third and final episode is from the shoot at the Swiss resort of Crans Montana on a jump that was specifically built for this shoot on the other side of the glacier. The jump was absolutely massive, inrun speed was around 85-90kph including a huge "bridge" that followed after a tricky blind spot cat track.
