Tom Wallisch chats with Henrik Harlaut to talk style changing over the years, his plans for the season, helmets being cool again, and why protecting your noggin is important in the long run.
With seven Winter X-Games gold medals and a career spanning twenty years, Tanner Hall has cemented himself as an icon and legend in the sport of skiing. Now, at age 35, he’s decided to enter the Freeride World Tour; a five-stop competition circuit in which skiers are judged on their ability to descend through rugged, un-groomed terrain. Having never competed in a freeride competition, Tanner embarks on the latest chapter of his career, struggling against the limits of an aging body while confronting the darkest memories of his past.
Packed up the car and spent the last couple weeks of July skiing Mount Hood under the Oregon sun. Seemed like everyone was long overdue for a good session back on snow. Thanks to everyone that appeared in this video, hell of a trip!

Spring is here, like it or not and that means for most of us its time to hang up our boots and give our skis a rest until next winter. But before you put your ski gear away for summer and wheel out that bike, there are a few things you can do to ensure that your gear is prepped and ready to go for next winter. Then when that first snowfall settles you can be one of the first to be out in line for a chair. Not only that but these steps will ensure that your gear remains in the best condition and doesn't deteriorate, or succumb to rust over the summer.

We will monitor the 3-4 fans who answered the most questions correctly in the comments and then bring them in live at the end, with the contestant who answers the most questions correctly winning a pair of Armada JJs!

Since the beginning, short ski videos have been the blood pumping through the veins of Newschoolers. We variously call them edits, shorts, short films, and other names, and it’s hard to know where exactly to draw the line between the three. But whatever you call them, we couldn’t have an awards ceremony without recognizing perhaps the most important part of ski media in our eyes.
