A few winters back my dad and I were showing off our dance moves at the Cowboy bar in Jackson, WY. Our footwork got fancy as they started throwing inverted dance moves. Within moments the bouncer promptly kicked them out saying “No boots over the brim!” A film concept was born that day. Boots Over Brim follows me, Amie, a professional skier and classically trained dancer, as I dip in and out of a dreamy western dance scene and ski lines in Wyoming, Nevada, and Alaska.
Breaking all the rules of a classic ski film, Boots Over Brim pairs two of my great loves with a soundtrack exclusively set to the electrifying country music of Paul Cauthen.
Skiing is an art. Full of connection, grace, touch and style. To me, skiing is a dance.

The emotion of expanding against gravity while you're shredding is a LOVE reaction!
The delight and jubilee we feel when we ride is an outpouring of LOVE from our souls!
Therefore riding with passion manifests LOVE into the world!
This all was a sudden revelation for me, and I was so thrilled about it, that I kicked off a snowskate tour to promote curiosity about the meaning of LOVE.
Essentially, I was trying to tilt and glide my body in a way that hacked my brain into releasing a cocktail of dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, endorphins, and adrenaline - mimicking the emotions of romantic love.
It absolutely worked, and the intense positive emotions of my experiment were lifechanging.
What I discovered is that gliding sports release potential energy, and our minds are stimulated by the changes in potential energy.
When I rode through a magnitude of gnarly terrain fields, I felt somewhat in control over my body's changes in potential energy. Once I realized the relationship between potential energy and my romanticism towards the beautiful world we live in, I started shredding my freakin' titties off.
It was awesome!
There was lots of Love along the way!
My heart is overflowing because the "gliding freedom feeling" we get when we harness an athletic, creative, or spiritual state is the same serotonin reward as LOVE.
What a comforting feeling, to know that no matter what’s happening today, we can go out and ride and manifest LOVE into this world.

Its been a slow start to the 21/22 ski season. It is great to be back and the kids are starting the season off strong. In this episode Dad makes the annual pilgrimage to the Jark to hike some tubes and makes a trip to Blue Mountain, PA to take some laps with good friend Jon Matalavage. Then the kids tackle the discovery area at Roundtop Mountain Resort for their first day on hill. Enjoy!

Im just the guy doing the planning and organisation of the snowpark in the background. I convice some of the younger shredders to spend a season as a shaper just as i did a few seasons ago and also contact the sponsors, plan and realize events with the help of the shapers and the resort and so on. Some call me the parkmanager but i would'nt go that far. I dont get paid for it and i do it just for the passion of freeskiing, the local snowsportscene and the culture.
This year we got the opportunity to finally realize an event we had planned for the 2018/19 season, which had to be cancelled because of the COVID outbreak. A so called "Game of go-shred" in which everyone can participate. The video above is the recap-video of the event and was filmed and edited by Marcus Westphal, @wertzzzu.

Finally – after 2 years of Corona-caused cancellation, we were finally able to check out Steibis Snowpark in southern Germany. Ever since the Snowpark was established by Tajo Seefried about 12 years ago, it was the training ground that produced some excellent rail riders like our go-shred homie Wolfi Natterer and Marco Hornauer. A short park with 7 rail features in line, a lift just with the same length, which allows you to have 15 runs an hour. Perfect for a stop of our GAME of go-shred Tour.
We started the Game of go-shred at 12 o’clock and opened up our Spezi Softdrink deposit to keep competitors and visitors hydrated. It just feels good to drink out of a glass bottle. Things got heated at the Skatehalle Innsbruck Snowskate Game and the Highest Ollie right away. After one hour our helpful shapers fired up the BBQ. Thanks to the local butcher Metzgerei Giray we had local sausages as well as vegan and vegetarian sausages for our hotdogs. BBQ and drinks as well as Meckatzer beer were free for everyone.
After three hours of fun and games it was time to wrap up the game, hand in the result sheets and start with the price giving. We had nice price packages from our sponsors Volcom, Salomon, Stance and Arcade for the first 3 of every category. The winner of the Snowboard Pro category went home with a brand new Salomon Dancehaul Snowboard. The winner of the Snowboard advanced category went home with some brand new Salomon Snowboard boots. The winners of ski the groups went home with high quality Salomon Goggles.
After the price giving the shapers switched the lift back on until the sun set behind the hills of Oberstaufen at half past 5 and many took the chance to make some extra laps.
The locals were stoked about the amount of people that showed up and the snowboarders and skiers were stoked about the park and to meet so many friends and homies after the long Corona hiatus.
One thing is sure: We’ll be back!
