This past winter Tahoe witnessed a huge tragedy when we lost one of the best to ever do it: And "i" Mcdowell. Andy was an unreal skier and an even better person, a true legend. Tahoe got absolutely hammered with snow after he passed but it was hard to get motivated to want to get after it with such a heavy loss. Most of this edit was filmed from an all-time trip up to BC my buddy Shugz and I had before his passing, and the rest was filmed down on a trip to the sierras towards the end of March. I dedicate this edit to Andy because I know he would have wanted nothing more than for us to keep sending and living life to the fullest just as he always did. So make the most of your life and live the best you can because tomorrow is promised to no one. #LiveLikeAndy

2 laps deep in the Rattlesnake Wilderness Area on old Mosquito Peak. The 2nd chute was a new one for me and the choke point did not fill in that great this year obv. Always sketch guinea pigging a line that no one has skied all year. Big line season is upon us. Jazzed for more marathon days in ze mountains.

North of nowhere, the greatest lake on Earth rules its domain. Each winter arctic gales stream south and meet the warm humid air of the lake. These storms create the world’s most powerful lake effect snows.

The vast wilderness surrounding the lake receive more snowfall than many western mountain ranges. The quiet trees see more wolves here than people. Hidden behind thickets of alders and willows lie some of the deepest ski stashes in North America.

Few find them, those who do never forget.

3 seasons of gopro footage from Jackson and the surrounding backcountry. I finally got around to editing it all together, hopefully I can fuel some stoke for the coming season. Yes it was made on windows movie maker, and yes my gopro is old and doesnt have hypersmooth.

DREAM JOB Trailer

This past winter, Colleen Gentemann filmed and directed the ski comedy Dream Job up in the true north. The film follows stand-up comedian and Revelstoke local Katie Burrell as she navigates her way into becoming a professional skier.
