I haven't met many people as obsessed with candy as Derek Simpson. Whenever we're out there he's either scarfing down one of his favorite types of candy or raving about a new candy he found. In the end, we decided to make a 2018/2019 ski edit with a theme around sugar, so here is Sugar Coated.
Part 1 - Todays world of action sports and kickstarters require that every thing we do be motivated by this powerful message of chasing a dream, making the world a better place, or seeking the grandest adventure. As I look into what motivates my skiing, i can't help but realize i do it for no reason greater than manning up. To Push yourself and huck your meat and see how far you can go. It's a story that has been inspired by My Ballsack.

The 11/12 winter season was on track to be the greatest season of LJ Strenio's life filled with fun park sessions in the US, powdery heaven in Europe and a trip to the urban rail mecca of Finland with Level 1. As we know too well with all this fun there is the possibility of injury & consequence. A shattered kneecap in Finland sidelined LJ for the rest of the year and through rehab, determination and the great attitude that LJ is known for is back for more! Andy works on his X Games Real Ski Segment, LJ finds his calling with Skiboards, Sawyer tries to remember what he didn't learn in college, all while the crew braves the negative east coast temperatures.
The crew continues to travel around the East Coast. Hot laps at Bolton Valley, Ski Sundown, and Sugarbush compiled with a rail garden on the Glacier at Northern Vermont University. It's hard tellin' if the crew really had a plan, or if they were going anywhere, their skis would take them.

Every now and then, a skier comes along that’s a no-brainer to welcome into the fold of the Jiberish family of athletes. Jib vets Sam Zahner, Calvin Barrett, and Seamus Flanagan, brought along new team member Ryan Stevenson for a mid-season session filled with big tricks and even bigger vibes. The ultimate combo of Colorado sunshine and Woodward Copper’s impressive park setup led to an unforgettable few days on hill.

When I was young, I always dreamt about filming with Level 1. Over the last 2 years this dream has come true and I am really stoked to release my season edit with all my shots from the past winter. From the deepest pow ever in Canada to the longest airtime in Mammoth. I also found myself in the streets in Moscow, where I had the worst crash of my life. Luckily, 5 Russian staples later, and I am as good as new.

Joona Kangas has been part of the Jiberish family for the past seven years, and we’ve had the pleasure of watching him evolve into the style god that he is today.
