The Ansel Jacket and Team Cargo are from the budget-friendly end of Armada’s range but don’t lack features despite the pricing. It was also our testers’ absolute favorite kit of the test because all three of the kits we were sent looked FIRE. It takes home a Best of Test award despite costing less than half of what most of our other winners do, and deservingly so.

The Ansel 2L jacket has the look and feel of an upgraded windbreaker, with added durability thanks to 10k/10k ripstop fabric and a little insulation, but not so much that it feels heavy or intrusive. It has a media pocket, a powder skirt, a little stash pocket (that we’ll let you wonder about the purpose of), and mesh-lined vents. It’s all you really NEED from a jacket for resort skiing unless you ski somewhere particularly wet or go touring a ton.
The Team Cargo is the pant you see most of the Armada team rocking and it feels great. Super baggy fit, heavyweight and durable fabric, and practical pockets. The only thing it’s missing is boot gaiters, preferring a drawstring cinch to keep out the snow. We’d prefer gaiters but it works if you aren’t skiing pow. The waist is ‘true to size’ with the rest of the dimensions scaled up two sizes (so size S has an S waist but size L legs) for that baggy look without falling down. There’s also a drawstring, belt loops AND internal velcro so you can size these up as much as you want and they'll stay up (we had a 5ft 100lb girl in XL and the pants stayed on).
Who’s it for? These are designed for park skiers who want baggy clothes that actually still fit. However, the tech is good enough for most resort skiing days and so really, anyone who wants to inject a bit of style to their kit could rock either the Ansel, or the Team Cargo or both.

Fit tips: True to size for a ‘baggy fit’, size up to look gangster AF. We had L & XL at the test and almost all our testers found L baggy enough.
