The Patrol E2 is my avy pack of choice for a handful of reasons. I upgraded from the Patrol E1 which I was a big fan of in most regards, because the E2 fixes the small gripes I had with the original. The Alpride E2 system takes up significantly less space in the bag than the E1 system, meaning more stash room. It's a small change but it makes a big difference. The 22L version is now plenty for most resort/sidecountry days and the 30L is enough for a full day out in the backcountry with everything you need.
The Alpride system is the best in my eyes too. Firstly, it requires no canisters. They're annoying for traveling on planes, need refilling, and while they are very effective for single-use, just annoying to deal with. The problem with older electrical bags was that they were heavy. But the E2 system is lightweight, and compact, meaning there isn't really any disadvantage. That's particularly important to me (and doubtless most NS members) because having a heavy weight on your back SUCKS for throwing tricks.
The bag deploys fast and reliably when I've tested it, thankfully never in a real-life slide. It also charges fast and the capacitors will recharge on the go when you add in a set of AA batteries. The new pack has better organization options as well as more space, with the 30L offering a better sorting system, better goggle pocket, etc. The avalanche bag zipper also doesn't slowly open like the E1 packs used to when tightly packed, which is a huge convenience upgrade. Convenience is a big part of why I like this pack so much, it's super easy to use day in and day out.
And I do use it a lot, probably half the days in the season. It blows my mind when I go skiing in North America that almost nobody rides with a pack, let alone an avy pack, because I ride with one every day there are freshies. Sure the resort setups are different but even so... Regardless, if you're in the market, this Patrol E2 is probably the best choice, and I'd argue the 22L is the best pack out there for having an avy bag and still wanting to throw tricks. - @Twig
