The 2021 Atomic Backland 117, a big mountain ski. A preview of Atomic's tourable powder ski, plus weight and full specs.
The Atomic Backland 117 is the widest model in our Backland range, created with freeride pros like Sage Cattabriga-Alosa. Sporting both Carbon Backbone and Powder Rocker profile, it also features revolutionary HRZN Tech in the tip for more surface area and even better floatation. It’s wide enough for aggressive skiing on deep storm days or shredding big mountain spines. It also delivers on harder snow thanks to the camber underfoot. And we’ve made Backland light without sacrificing stability thanks to an Ultra Light Woodcore. This makes them a perfect freeride touring ski, great for accessing untouched terrain, whether you’re skinning or carrying them on your back for a boot pack.
