After a total overhaul of the ARV series for the 18/19 season, they remain unchanged this time around with the exception of a couple new additions– the ARV 84 & ARW 84, entry-level all mountain freestyle twins. There are lots of changes in the BDOG world, with the BDOG featuring a new construction and shape, his Circle Flex tips/tails go along with straight sections in the sidecut to provide maximums surface area when pressing. They've also introduced the BDOG Edgeless– a soft BDog without the steel edges. The Zero Series innovation lab has introduced two new skis, the Declivity X, in collaboration with Chamonix local Tof Henry, as a burly big mountain ride, and the ARG II, with a 133mm waist as the slashiest, surfiest ski that Armada has ever made. Last but not least, the VJJ is back to the women's line.
Manufacturer's Description: The ARG II really has no equal. With its 133mm waist, it's float is unrivaled and the Reverse Sidecut and AR Powder Rocker make it turn on a dime in tight spots and trees. It's the most surfy, slashy ski we make and when the conditions are right it'll change your perception of how you …
Newschoolers Quick Review: The ARV 106 has been one of my favorites since it dropped a couple of years back and the new version is even better. When I'm not sure what conditions the trip I'm going on is going to throw at me (and I don't have something else I have to review). Perhaps the old ski was a touch (thoug…
Newschoolers' Quick Review:
The ARV 116 is tons of fun. It's a fairly solid ski but still plenty playful. It isn't necessarily one for the big lines, but it'd be a great great choice for the park kid who wants to get jibby in the pow like THall or the dad who wants to have a more surfy style to their skiing in d…
Manufacturer's Description: Bringing light to new heights, the ARV JJ UL floats like a butterfly and cuts like a butter knife for a definitive BC freestyle experience. The JJ UL is 25% lighter than the original JJ. With less weight through the tip and tail, the JJ UL utilizes our lightest Caruba Woodcore to creat…

If you are a teen with little money, trying to get into the world of freeskiing (like me), these are really good skis. In terms of value for your money, these are up there at the top. I’d say they didn’t particularly excel in any particular area, instead they did pretty much everything w…

Park is where the 86 truly shines. I've been riding wider skis for the past couple of years and I was surprised. I thought the 86 would be your stereotypical jump and trail ski, but this thing slays everything. It's got a really nice buttery flex in the tip and tail, and it's super solid underf…
Newschoolers' Quick Review:
The ARV 96 is a versatile, medium flexing option that pretty much lets you take on anything you want in the park world. You can take it to decent sized jumps and you can swerve around the smallest of features. The shape handles soft snow pretty well for the size and the swingweight is nic…
Newschoolers' Quick Review:
I've only had a couple of runs on these skis (having spent a solid chunk on the regular ARV96) but these are exactly what you'd expect. Same ARV shape but damper and stiffer. It's a great shape for skiing the whole mountain too so the added stiffness turns them in to a real charger. The r…

The Armada BDog is basically what I always hoped the T-Hall ski would evolve into. It feels like a wide ski, but without the compromises of a fatter ski. Many of you will be considering the ARV skis or the Dollo, but for the more jibby among you, I would take a closer look at the BDog…
Newschoolers' Quick Review:
I was very impressed by the Armada BDog Edgeless. I am not one for a soft swerve skis in general but I had fun skiing these in the park. I wouldn’t choose it for my daily driver unless I was trying to enhance my butter game but I did find it incredibly fun. When it comes down to it…
Manufacturer's Description: Unequalled stability and confidence for when it gets steep and deep. When you think big mountain, you think Chamonix. We designed the Declivity X in collaboration with Cham local, Tof Henry, for bringing a freeride approach to faces that used to be off-limits for anything but jump turns an…
Newschoolers' Quick Review:
The new iteration of the Dollo is... almost exactly like the old one to be honest. A softer tail means the skis feel slightly more balanced despite the rockered nose and cambered tail. And they still have a decent degree of torsional stiffness compared to other jib noodles like the Li…
Manufacturer's Description: As one of Armada’s co-founders, Tanner Hall, continues to push the boundaries of skiing from urban to powder, the Armada Magic J remains his go-to tool in deep and challenging conditions. Utilizing tip and tail rocker and a stiffer flex pattern the Magic J remains predictable and…
