Well folks, my t2i just broke so its time to move in a new camera direction. Unfortunately these lenses won't be able to come along for the ride. That means its up to you to give them the love that they require.

Tamron 17-50 f2.8 - $350
Good condition, I purchased it new. It has had a UV filter since I took it out of the box. It comes with a Hoya Pro 1 Digital MC Protector filter.

All the follows after 5:15 were shot with this lens.



Tokina 11-16 f2.8 - $630
Great condition as well. It has never been used without a filter. It includes a Hoya Pro 1 Digital MC Protector filter as well. This is the best UWA lens for canon crop sensors.

This entire edit was shot with this lens.



Canon 70-200 F4 L - $550
Great condition, it has always had a filter. It also includes a tripod collar and a B+W 007 Neutral MRC filter

Does having a tripod collar make a noticeable difference? I hear people say it does but I've never had one.

Thanks for the info.

Lets say $550 for the tokina. Remember that it includes a quality $50 filter.

And how about $300 for the tamron. It includes the same type of filter.

hey i only have enough to buy one lense right now would you reccommend the tamron or tokina. i can get the tamron for 220 and the tokina for 530. im kind of low on cash so i basically want to know if you think it is worth the extra 300. i will be getting some more lenses but it wont be for a couple months

It helps stabilize while on a tripod and it also prevents you camera from getting fucked up from all the weight being held so far out. Essentially it helps even out the weight. In my opinion it is more than nesissary.

Too much use and abuse. The on\off switch doesn't work and the whole things looking pretty beat.

This is true, but I don't really think they are necessary for the f4 version. I am pretty sure the Tokina ways more then the 70-200 f4. For the F2.8 version definitely, but I have never had one on mine and have never had a problem.

With regards to? It's just I don't want to get the collar for 10$, and I'd have to get another qr plate for it for $25

If your on a super tight budget, you can do without. What tripod do you have? If its the normal 701/501 with 055XB legs, then you are going to want one. It defiantly makes a difference on mine

Nah, I'm not on a SUPER tight budget, but if its not worth it you bet I'm not gonna be getting one. Don't suppose you could take a comparison video or something? And yeah I'm on 055w501. I might get the collar first then, if its good il keep it and buy the qr plate and if not just return it.

I would give a comparison, but im shooting in northern michigan and i edit on a desktop back home. Honestly, shoot with out it first. You just got the lens, right? See how it is without it, if your not satisfied, get a lens collar and use the same quick release you have right now before you buy another one. If you dont see a difference, you can return it or your just out $10, which isnt a big loss.

Shooting a telephoto that size without either a collar or rail system is a waste of time. If it isn't evident on a computer screen, it will definitely be evident on a TV. Unless you have a nice tripod, they are necessary in my opinion.
