It's looking like a 1 hour weather hold. Woke up at 6am for this, come on baby, come on!

Actually so far I'm not impressed that it's not showing live updates like mission control pre-launch. It's just showing a blank screen of the sky saying delay.

well then every manned mission in history besides the apollo missions were not in "space" by that definition.

but yeah I kind of agree. I don't know if "space" has an official "edge" but I would say you should at least break the mesosphere. You wouldn't even be above all weather, and would still be below stuff like the aurora which they are well above on stuff like the ISS.

Oh wow, apparently there is a commonly accepted "edge of space". Interestingly enough, as I mentioned aurora, this is line is at about the exact altitude of the aurora. So yeah, he's not actually going to space, but it's still badass.

The Kármán line lies at an altitude of 100 kilometres (62 mi) above the Earth's sea level, and is commonly used to define the boundary between the Earth's atmosphere and outer space.

pretty sure a spacesuit would burn up if it tried to enter the stratosphere from the mesosphere, no? This is the start of something revolutionary! As my friend Gary Connery just posted, "Spacesuits are the new Wingsuits!" lol
