Surface No Times

Hey, I was just wondering if anybody out there has these or has gotten a chance to ride these skis. I'm looking to get them next year and was just wondering how they are. I basically only ski park and these seem like a great ski for it. So really any information on them will help, thanks guys. +K for serious answers.

I have ridden them, and they snapped with-in 10 ten days of riding. So yes, in my experience they will snap easily. I don't 'hate' surface at all, but my experience with their skis is not pleasant.

for real... i beat the shit out of my no times and they held up again rocks, rails and jumps... super solid ski and only damage i've had is top sheet.

No, but my freind who shreds snapped 3 in about 2 months of riding, and yes he enjoyed them.
I also snapped my double times in a month and a half a riding, and this ski is more "durable" than theno times.
Yes, Surface makes great preforming skis, i loved the double times, but they have a major durability problem on their park lineup

Mine snapped, my buddies snapped also. They suck, don't even try to defend Surface, the Nine life is a horrible ski.

Well, I will continue to defend surface. My Nine Lifes are in good condition still...

OP skis in Connecticut, not sure where you and your friends skied, or what type of terrain. So, please go away. He is also talking about the NO TIMES.. Not 9lifes..

I ski in Ontario, so probably similar terrain as you. I don't have much of an opinion on No times. It really is too bad Nines have such bad durability, they were such a good ski until they snapped.

Did they snap right in front of the front binding? Most people had that problem

heres what you do: buy 2 2x4s and carvre you own skis out of them, place the tips in boiling water untill their soft, bend the tips and vice them like that for a couple days, drill holes that go the length of the ski and insert metal dowels with some glue. there you go!! you have custom skis and if you want to be really hi tech special order a sheet of base material and cut it out to shape and then stick to your skis with white glue or a glue stick. ENJOY!!

my no times are very playful and snappy, jib-tastic in other words.. durability is a meh, just top sheet chips here and there and some minor scratches but bases have held up quite well in the park, except against rocks, DON'T hit rocks..... I can't imagine these snapping on me.

I bought theese exact skis from evo. I love them so much they have held up nicely and really hold on edgo in shitty snow. They also shred on rails and are light on jumps.

yeah same here, landed slightly backseat and boom. That happened around the 12th of January....still havent gotten them back for warranty. If you say the No Times have great durability your probably 120 pounds and/or dont ski very hard.

Oh, and just to let you know sir...

I've snowboarder for 10+ years and I switched to skiing this year, so no shit I'm not gonna b on the big park hitting 30 foot jumps and huge DFD that are on the steepest hill on the mountain, also the 7 kink or whatever it is, and the S rail.... And the un-bow..... Pretty sure nobody in their first year of skiing would want to hit any of that..

So no shit I'm gonna go on the park that's on the LONGEST trail, with the most features.... Which aren't even "mini" at all...

Urban-ish lift tower, 2 hips, rollers, bonk, URBAN DFD, flat box, FDF, flat rail (25ish feet) then another flat rail that shoots you up.. Pretty sure I'd rather ski on Toms Treat than stinger dude... Plus I don't feel like sliding on ice, and everyone on the lift watching me...

Well I am around the 120 mark, not exactly a big kid. But I have ridden/beaten the shit out of my octolands this year so the durability of the no times is scaring me a bit.

every compnay is gonna produce some skis that have some sort of defect in the core that they cant see, and the ski ends up being sold and possibly you snap them. but thats why they warranty them. every company has this problem, it's not just surface.

The only surfaces ive snapped have been mounted atleast 2 times. The double times were on the second season until the tail got hooked in a rail last week SNAP. Joystick These lasted from spring until about the end of january when they snapped riding heavy pow. Surface Watch life 08 had 3 mounts on one ski so they snapped after 17 days (pow skiing).


I love surface skis however i dont know if i can keep riding them because of the weak cores. However they are super fun and super light skis. As long as your skinny and dont bring your park skis out of the park they should be fine. Im still riding my 09/10 one lifes and rocking them everyday this year.

sometimes im very glad for how skinny i am because then i dont snap skis as easy haha. im 5foot 6inches and 95 pounds, im so skinny that not even the afterbangs are buttery for me...

Err, if you're going to post about somethings durability, you should probably add the caveat that you're pretty new to skiing and you have them mounted with Squires, which, with all due respect, means you're either not very big or not going very big.

So really you should be saying they hold up great, if you're a little guy or don't ride very hard - but you don't know if they're any good for larger riders or people who throw down like animals.

I had last years model (blue ones), and their durability was horrible in just about every way. Got them warrantied for this years (yellow ones) and they are sooo much better. They seem really stiff but the construction has improved a lot
