I landed a sketchy 9 and hurt my left leg. I don't know what happened,
but it seems that a muscle, slightly behind the knee, is driving me
crazy. It also hurts when I bang the ski backwards. I took some pictures
to help a bit. What do you guys think is it?
I did the same thing last weekend it still hurts to lean back on the boots. But RICE first and if it still hurts go to the doctor no matter how long the wait.
I don't think that I broke something. It's more like constant muscular pain. I should do the RICE and see if I'm able to ski again. A similar injury happened to my friend and he wasn't able to ski after 1 week of resting. It sucks
Well, I'm no doctor, but I had something similar once, even tho I think the pain was a bit higher, closer to the knee. I waited a week before skiing again, the pain reappeared, but it was weaker, then couple days without skiing again, and it stopped.
So my uneducated advice would be: wait another few days, and it will probably go away progressively, but if the pain remains the same, go see a doctor, a physio or whatever.
Anyway, get better!
RICE, and try doing stretches; be real gentle if its real painful though. I'd do calf/achilles, hamstring, and groin stretches, they'll probably all have some effect. Once it's feeling better I'd do some strengthening too--those toe stand ones might be good for it, but idk.
a doctor would know better but that's what i'd do in your situation.
same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, you most likely strained your calf muscles, meaning you tore a bunch of small muscle fibers. This happened to me a few weeks ago, and it's still bugging me now. only thing you can do is give it time, rest, ice, and make sure to stretch a lot.
Holy shit you definately did not tear your ACL. Go put your boot on and press your shin to the tongue, if it hurts, when you landed you got some shin bang. I get it a lot too. It hurts your shin and that calf where you were pointing and skiing really hurts when you hit even little bumps, I noticed it happens to me on very icy landings or when I land backseat on hard packed snow.
I hit the hill yesterday and the same sort of injury was bothering me. I just stretched out the muscle before hitting the hill today and it was much better then the day before.
