I just recently took a slam and hurt my shin and it hurts everytime i land forward with a little shin bang it hurts. Is there a way you guys cusion your shin so it doesnt hurt as much?
I did the same thing a couple weeks ago, and it's finally returning to normal. I haven't been able to ski park, and it sucks. Threads for some good answers!
ouch man that's rough... put an icy hot patch on it, cut an ace bandage in half and wrap it up with that over your sock, then leave your binding pretty lose and stay out of the park for a week or two.
not exactly the same but i destroyed my calves from going to a gym for tumbling to where i could barely walk without having intense cramps because my calves were so knotted. let it fully heal without skiing or you'll hate yourself.
i've found that my shins hurt way less when my boots are super tight so maybe you're skiing with your boots are too loose.
any leg strengthening would probably help as well once your shins are back to normal
make a donut thing of some sort? if it's just shin bang the best thing to do is tighten your boots as much as possible--shin bang results from your shin hitting into your boot as there's space between the two. get rid of the space and get rid of shin bang.
if there's a velcro strap on the top of your boot, try putting it inside of the plastic so it's directly in contact with the front of your liner. this may only work with dalbello/full tilt boots idk though.
This is not how shin bang is caused (generally). I can't be bothered to go into detail, someone else can. But shin bang is where the muscles in your shin get pulled, either resulting in the muscle slightly pulling away from the bone or shin splints. Shin bang is generally caused from being too backseat.
