NS Slowdown around Midnight EST?

It could have just been my internet, but I'm curious to see if any of you notice regular sluggishness of the site around Midnight EST?

I thought I detected something last night, but want to verify.

Among many other calculations that are performed. I just haven't been posting on NS at midnight in a while, so hadn't experienced it.

Are you saying that you do notice a slowdown?

Yea it happens for everybody in the US as far as I know, like he said above I thought it was just the site updating.

YEah it is the site updating... but it was slower than I thought it would be. How annoying do you find it?

I noticed that site activity dropped off significantly when it happened.

You west coasters must be even more frustrated, because that is like 9pm.

For me it's not as bad, it was probably like a 8+ during the summer, but now that im waking up at 6 for school, I usually am not awake for the slowdown. Its like a 6-7 on weekends though.

So if I averaged it I'd say 7.4925

also, hasn't this always happened? not at midnight, but for quite a while NS would just not work for 10 min around 1 am PST every single day

I find it annoying as can be if I'm actively interested in something and it happens.

I do think the updates/maintenence whatever should be done ~4-8am

my mind was blown when I was in england and discovered the daily 5am outage when I tried going on at 9am london time. Had absolutely no idea it updated like that daily. I think 4am est would be a reasonable compromise for everyone.

It happens around 10:30(MST) for me, I'd rate about 6 on the annoying scale from September to May, and then a 9 throughout the summer.

It's better than the whole site being down for anywhere between 10-30 minutes like it used to be, but it's still pretty annoying... move it to like 5 or 6am EST and that'll be perfect (at least, for north America)

This. When the update was at 4am, NS always went down for about 15 mins on the west coast at 1am every night. But now I never get caught in the downtime.

Yah I am noticing this right between 10-10:30 and it is super annoying haha not as bad as in the summer but still pretty bad.

i think lik 6am est would work best. i remember it used to be 4am and like jamie said, it was a sign i needed to go to bed haha i haven't noticed at 10pm any slowness but im usually a little more occupied around 10 than i was at 1am.

Just throwing this in here, It's a complete bitch at 9 o clock here.

Run stystem updates at different times so at different regions it's all at like 4 in the morning.

I think that somewhere between like 4 and 6 EST is the right area. We'll look at the logs and figure out the most dead time of the day.

Yeah but its not as bad as the last time I was on here at this time. So its inconsistent..... interesting.

Anyways, we'll probably move the time anyways rendering this discussion irrelevant... well except for those of you in other parts of the world.

What would like 4am EST be for the australians and NZ people out there?

It does seem to be much slower now that the site has been changed up a bit. not sure if that has anything to do with the speed or not but yes i have noticed this.
