The Official 2011 Ask Your Date to Prom Idea thread

Thread's purpose- to give non-creative guys help on how to ask your date to prom.

Any ideas you have/ past ideas can be mentioned.

My idea i was going to ask my girlfriend was when she isn't home go into her room and fill up a bunch of balloons and have one balloon with a note asking her to prom. And she'll have to go and pop the balloons till she finds the balloon with note.


Yes i do realize they have a ladies men cult but i felt that it is kinda dead and this would get more attention to it.

and if anybody is confused about the anniversary/prom aspect, our anniversary was right in the middle of prom-asking season at our school so the video itself was part of her anniversary present, and i happened to use that video to ask her to prom.

we have access to a lot of land where i live and a shit-ton of trees, so were gonna go on a walk and once we get to a certain scenic overlook i paint out PROM? in huge letters across trees where you can only see it from that point...its gonna be so much precise work but its gonna be epic

If she is your girlfriend why do you need to ask her to prom? I had a girlfriend when I was in highschool, and I would just ask what color tux did I need.

honestly your girlfriend may have acted like that was fine, but i'm sure she would have been happier if you had shown some effort and not taken her for granted. i liked showing my girlfriend that i felt like i still had to make an effort to keep her around, it made her feel good.

Yeah, i'm pretty sure my girlfriend already knows i'm going to prom with her, but i kinda feel like it would take out feel for prom if i didn't ask her in a creative way.

Hey, do you want to go to prom with me? Pretty simple. YOU're not proposing to her. You don't have to rent a plane to fly over head with a banner that says go on a scavenger hunt, and at some point in the scavenger hunt their are clues, and if she isn't stupid she can figure out that you want to go to prom with her, but she'll probably mess it up and think you're asking if you can rape her mom.

lol dude you have no idea. a couple weeks ago some random girl messaged me and told me that some dude at a school back in Spokane (where live/went to high school) copied my idea. I added him on FB and watched the video and he literally copied my video completely, shot for shot. even used the same song. couldnt decide if i was flattered or pissed.

there was this competition at my school that they have every year to see what senior will represent our school. they do anything they think is funny one at a time on stage in front of the whole school. the one kid is doing some dance or something in a huge robe like a streaker wold wear. he rips it off and on his shirt underneath it says the girls name and then PROM? everyone went wild

im a firefighter so i was thinking of getting one of my buddies to drive me over to her house in one of the big red trucks, flipping on the sirens and lights, and scaring the shit out of her. when she runs outside, i'll ask her to prom over the loud speaker...

but then again, i would probably be going with a friend so no reason to go over the top

Yeah. I just feel like people get a little over dramatic about prom, but that's a sweet way to tell someone anything. Hope she liked it. Would have thrown things at her if she didn't.
