New Rossi Scratch

I don't know shit about Icelandic, but I do know a ton about rossi's.

Any stiff park skis that is aggressive (s4's) will do well in the pipe, but s4's aren't necessarily pipe skis. They are awesome on jumps, rails, and on groomers and in trees.

S4's, Kev/Xav's, and Scratches are all identical skis, just different graphics. They are a really aggressive ski so if you aren't an advanced-expert skier you might not like them. Their really stiff so theres no room to "butter out" of back seat jump landings like you can on softer skis. They are really versatile though, awesome in trees and on groomers, great jump and pipe skis, also great on rails.

I love mine, I use them for rails, jumps, groomers, and trees. Their super durable and really light weight. I find them really stiff, but I'm only 5'8 130 though so you will find them a lot softer.

Maybe look into s5's if your skiing a lot more trees and groomers than you are park. They still rip the park, parker white and chris logan ski on them a lot more than s4's. I believe their 98 underfoot, really versatile and light weight, still fairly stiff. Next years also have full rocker, no camber, so they will be awesome in EC pow.

da nollies and the scratch are going to be a very different ski...i currently ride the first gen da nollies and they are the softest ski i have ever ridden.. they have a very park specific flex, with a (hinge?) almost in the profile of the ski....they are soft buttery and chatter like crazy...

I'm pretty stoked on looking into these Rossi scratches. My last skis (recently destroyed) were 06 scratch FS and they were such good skis. Could charge anything with no chatter at all. I really loved those bad boys and they took one hell of a beating and held up for 6 seasons. Might have to get back on them lol

Those scratch comes with rocker for next year, might make them a little bit more playfull I would think.

Wrong. Next years s5's have rocker, s4's still have full camber.

The S5 will have the same banana rocker like the S6 has, but the jib skis are supose to have something new called spin rocker..

on a side note to all this wonderful and absolutely correct info, i have next years 2012 sickle/s6 they have the same rocker profile as the new s5 or what ever it is next year and they are super fun in the park(but a little wide) leading me to beleve that the new s5 would be the dirtiest park ski ever. (but i have a soft spot for scratch fs, s4, whatever its called)

@JakobS: Curios where you heard that? From what I know and the SIA vids, next years scratches will not have any rocker.

@No_Dub: I'm either getting s5's or s6's next year for all-mountain jibbing. And I completely agree that next years s5's are going to be so fucking sick! And of course you "have a soft spot for s4's", last time i checked you had two pairs.

i dont know what it is about them but i cant get enough of a pair of s4's. maybe its the fact that they ski is virtually unchanged since its creation day as a scratch fs.

i actually skied a kids scratch fs 07 and they skied practically the same as my s4's.

slight thread jack... Has anyone skied the new s5's? seems like a good ski for playing around on, but with the full rocker I guessing it doesn't carve very well or stomp landings. I'm 6'2 and 215lbs and am looking at the 185. I want a jibby fun ski for messing around, but can it still carve?

I might try and talk to the rossi rep for my area and see if he has any 2012 S5's that i could demo for a couple days.

well this years s6 is super legit in the park, apparently the new s5 has the same rocker profile as the s6 therefore it would be better than the s6 in the park because it is narrower... just implied information but the s6 is really nice in the park. second favorite to the s4
