B/S/T Forums Split and Cleaning

Well its finally time to take action here and make the B/S/T forums more usable.

The first order of business is to divide Buy from Sell and Trade. Think of them now as "Want, Don't Have" and "Have, Don't want". This should simplify things depending on what side of the transaction you are on. Over time we will move threads to their appropriate forum, so bear with us if things are in the wrong place for a bit.

We've also eliminated Feelers, which simply clutter the forum with claims and people looking to price gouge.

As a final attempt to keep order, we will be on the look out for excessive bumping. We understand you want your thread visible on the front page, but if you are bumping your thread hourly, with no other responses in between 40 times in a row, theres a chance noone wants your stuff. Excessive bumping may result in your thread being sent back to the depths, or deleted all together.

It confused me initially as well...the only place I found "want to buy" is under Quicklinks, I don't see it anywhere in the top bar

I think the natural end to this is we find that no one will use the "buy" i.e. don't have, want" forum unless they are posting a wtb. The only way I could see such a forum lasting is if the search function was more specific/advanced.

when you create a thread in these forums there should be a drop down menu for what you're planning on doing, so you could select FS, FT, or WTB to eliminate confusion and misleading thread titles

Now people won't need to bump threads as much without 90% of the front page being idiots trying to buy specific skis nobody would ever sell for what they offer to pay. (point being, sell threads will have more room and won't be off the front page so fast).

Good idea, especially with kicking feelers and excessive bumping. Still seeing quite a few WTB threads in the sell/trade forum though. It would be sweet to separate the sell/trade into gear (ski, boots, bindings ONLY) and other stuff (clothes, cameras, and everything else).
