Alright, so heres the deal. There are way too many people posting Feeler threads and all it does is contribute clutter and frustrate people who actually want to buy.

So from here on in we are going to Delete feeler threads. Either decide to sell or keep your gear. Please don't use BST just for claiming you have something

it's good to be able to feel out prices, but at the same time i completely agree with you.

That's the whole point of a feeler... You put it up, if you get an offer you like, you sell... If not, you don't. Fairly simple logic...

yeah but another thing is that people are gonna do it no matter what.. like they can say its for sale and its really a feeler, there is no way of knowin unless they say.. so people are gonna do it regardless

are you doing this for threads that are only feelers? cause I see tons of threads that have some items for sale and some that they're unsure of. I can see deleting threads that parallel the classic Cartmanland mentality of "you can't come," that makes perfect sense to me.

maybe a section for just feelers? Like above ppl said, its good to be able to get an idea , so if someone does offer you enough $ , u sell it, but if not, u dont.

meh...realistically almost ever thread is a feeler unless the OP is hurting for change. your not gonna sell your stuff for peanuts, if you get a price you like youll let the item go. if you dont get what you think is fair you will most likely keep your gear

I think this gets closer to the heart of the issue.

Almost everyone here won't sell something without getting what they feel to be a fair price. However, feeler and best offer threads are a way for an individual to dangle the carrot without suffering the potential callout by the price police, or angst by buyers who have $11.53 and some stickers to deal with.

I have always felt this is something of a yard sale where the seller ought to put a price point on their sellables in order for everyone to get an idea of the sellers concept of the value of the item. The next difficulty lies in that something is only worth what others are willing to pay for it. So, if the seller has a high price on an ugly pair of frogskins that noone wants, the item never gets sold (as per the original sellers intentions). But if they change their mind and want to get rid of it, they can lower their price or entertain previous offers and someone else can wear the ugly sunglasses.

When was the last time a seller like triplestrum posted a sale without putting a price on an item? Even if it changes over time or with negotiation, it is a place for everyone to start from.

Also please post a price on your item don't just say "offer?" or " I'm not really sure." You obviously have a price in mind so just tell us!

then dont be a douche and price police. if a person is selling something for a certain amount of money, ask them why and if he wants to put it that price via pm, dont get mad if its high, the seller is anticipating a kid will spend a lot on it and thats why it is higher. Supply and Demand
