MacBook Pro with CS5

For sale here is a late 2008 MBP.
The good one with the expresscard slot, not the useless SD slot.
For a person looking for a graphic design machine, this is perfect.
The expresscard slot lets you run an eSATA adaptor for an external drive or raid configuration, and is loads faster than firewire…and if you need a SD slot, no problem, that's just a small adaptor away as well.
This is the 5, 1 iteration of the MBP, 2.53GHZ CPU, 4GB of ram (motherboard will address up to 6GB if you want to upgrade), and a 320GB hard drive.
This also has the dual graphics card layout: a Nvidia GeForce 9400M that shares system memory (up to 256MB), AND a Nvidia GeForce 9600GT with 512MB of DEDICATED graphics memory. A great Setup.
This was around $2000-$2200 new depending on the configuration.
This machine has a brand new superdrive and brand new speakers that were just replaced last month on warranty.
For the buyer, this will come with a fresh copy of Snow Leopard.
I am going to pre-install my copy of the CS5 Master Collection, as well as the onOne Plug-in Suite for Photoshop, which is an awesome setup for photo editing.
I also have quite a bit of other software I can install if you like, PM me for details.

I'm looking for $1500.
The machine is in EXCELLENT condition, no dead pixels, no scratches anywhere (save for the bottom, which can't be helped if you ever move it), blown out with compressed air and cleaned regularly...I take care of my machines.

Of all the things I could forget...yes it's a 15 inch model.

I took these with my iPhone here at the office, so not the best quality, but it's in awesone shape...as you can tell.
The vinyl decal on the back will remove with no residue, etc.
There are also a couple screen shots of the specs, and I also show where it has the larger L2 Cache (6MB vs. the 3MB on lesser models, and - strangely enough - the later unibody MBPs with the SD slot).
I can also include a 16GB iPod nano (black, perfect shape) for $100 more...if that interests anyone at all.

Yep...amazing computer.
I absolutely [i]adore[/i] this machine. It does everything well, and has been amazing.
The [b]only[/b] reason I need to sell it is to fund another machine, more of a workstation.
What I'm doing at work right now requires me to use virtual machines all the time, and I need something that will support more than 6GB of RAM...I know that seems like a ridiculous amount already, but running Windows and other OS' in VM eats up ram really quick, because you need to allocate it to the VM, and once you do, the mac OS can't touch that ram, even if the Windows/other OS isn't using it.

free bump because i have the exact same computer and its unreal. a lot of people who have the dual gpu mbp's dont even ever use it to its potential and just leave it in battery saver mode, its a shame

Nope...I wouldn't say that.
I would say I'm asking a fair price for what I'm selling.
The problem is kids on NS don't want to pay a fair price, they want you to give away your stuff for nothing.
The people here who know what this machine is worth have already said so.

We're pretty well connected up here...anyway, I guess you could say I'm the in-house systems and network admin for a contracting company. I have other things I do here as well, but I oversee all the network/IT related systems. And we use at least 3 different OS platforms between everyone at the company that I need to handle interactions between.

nah actually i was just curious what you are doing up there using vmware products.

i know server virtualization is huge, but im just wondering what there is going on in alaska.

you must be like one of 13 people in the whole state using vmware.

I actually use Parallels because my main OS is Macintosh, I used virtualbox for a bit, and then decided to step up to a paid product when I needed to do more VM stuff.
I read all the reviews/comparos I could find between Parallels and VMWare Fusion, and decided to give Parallels a go...my version 6 should be here next week if not sooner.
