pretty stoked on this lens but worried about it being cheaper.. is a bright light iridium that much better than this? I was thinking this and a emerald iridium would be a good quiver and not break the bank to much.
i emailed oakkley and asked if they are going to be as dark as the grey polarized. they havent gotten back to me yet but i am for sure going to pick these up. looks like a less expensive murdered out setup
Dark grey is most likely going to be similar to the dark spy lens that is not mirrored. And everyone buying lens based on color has no idea what they are doing.
Yea, everyone that is expecting this to be murdered out is going to severely disappointed. This will definitely be a see through lens, just grey instead of orange which is why its so cheap.
So here are some facts: The Dark Grey lens has a light transmission of 17% and is rated 3 for SUNNY weather. For comparison, Fire Iridium has a transmission of 16% and Black Iridium 18%. It will be a dark lens, just not mirrored. It will be no where near as light as Persimmon.
Really? They've been using it for years in sunglasses and it seems to have done just fine. Simply because it doesn't have iridium does not automatically make it a crappy lens. Obviously polarized lenses are better...and you pay for it.
Agreed. Why in the world would you wear a $40 dollar lens if you had $140 lens supplied by a sponsor?I couldn't see Dumont wearing anything not top o' the line.
Im super stoked, I have a dark grey lens on my jupiters, and its quite hard to see through. It should look the exact same as grey polarized maybe even a little darker. Im glad its $40! $40 dollar lenses are still quality VR28's sick, but are usually very see through. The only reason the other ones are more expensive is because they have the iridium coating, which doesnt do much except change the look, or they're polarized. This'll def be the next lens ill get.
