A MASSIVE Quote from the official Finger Jibbin' cult:
My binding Tutorial
the.cheat
ok, so heres my method of making non-ugly bindings. First off, I apologize for not having any excuse to put this out four days later than i said i would, other than my own procrastination. Also, my bad on the pics, my "good" camera only has 3.2 mp and sucks for close ups. anyways on to the tutorial. So, you made your nice pair of finger skis (with https://www.newschoolers.com/web/members/cultforumthread/thread_id/522677/ of course)but you don't want to mount them because all the bindings of today look unrealistic, so heres some better looking bindings!
Heres how to make them. 1.) gather materials. you will need...scissorspaperglue (super glue, preferably) cereal box cardboardxacto knife (not needed, but i like to have it around)tapeunmounted finger skis 2.) now lets get started.. first thing we need to do is to cut a bunch of around 1/2 inch to 3/4'th inch long cardboard pieces 1/4" wide.
3.) now lets glue a bunch of these together until its a quarter inch tall.
4.) now we're gonna cut that down a bit so its angled like so. (a dremel or knife comes in handy here)
5.) put that aside, we're gonna make the nosepiece. first, draw something like this up that would be sized about right for your ski.
6.) cut that out and make another one like that, and two more slightly bigger (an eighth of an inch or so)
7.)glue all those together like this to finish the nosepiece.
8.) now to finish up that tailpiece.... cut out some stuff like the front basicly, but squarer and longer
9.) In the above pic, i have glued the tail peice together already. now we mount that top thing from the first few steps. just flip the tail over and glue them.
10.) now, glue the bindings to the ski as they would be positioned on a real ski. (i didn't feel like making a whole new ski for the tutorial, so i just used random cardboard)
11.) take heart, we're almost done! we need to make another strip of two glued together 1/4" wide piece of cardboard thats at least as long as the bindings
HTML > BODY > DIV > BR <<< REMOVE**NEW: Images will be automatically resized to fit the display area. 12.) now we cut it down to fit snugly in the gap between the ski and binding. only shave off a bit at a time to avoid making a new strip. this takes trial and error a bit.
13.) head over to the finger fitters and tape a ring of paper so it fits your finger to your liking.
14.) glue this to the strip that fits in the binding.
15.) slide in and your ready to rock! feel free to color the bindings, modify my design, or tape pics of boots to your finger boot things. thanks for reading now go shred some binder!
