Ghost/Scary Experiences Thread

Now that it's summer and we're all bored, we need a thread about scary things and going out and exploring the haunted places in your town. Feel free to add pics and videos. I'll start with a story, it's not really scary but kinda interesting.

After buying some fireworks we decided to go explore this church that was burned down by some crazy dude years ago. It's a wierd place, there's like an old abandoned house by it and then the old ruined church, it's like in the middle of a forest. People say that a big stone cross was dragged out of the church and is just sitting in a clearing, we couldn't find it.
When we were getting out of our car to start walking up the trail to the church, and we saw a car coming down the road, so we hid in the trees around the dirt clearing. It turns out it was some gay mexican kid and his friends doing the same thing we were, hah it was funny we scared the shit out of them. On the way to the church we came to a wierd place with 3 cars that were totally trashed. We finally found the church. It was a stone building and one wall was collapsed allowing us to see most of the church from the outside.
A girl we were with took pictures with her camera and it was soo creepy, a few of her pictures had those orb things in it, and one we looked at later had a creepy ass face just sitting in the dark.
There was a ditch going around part of the back of the church like someone dug it out, and it went underneath the building, into like some kind catacomb, my friend was standing inside the ditch looking into it and he said something grabbed him, and we took off, I don't know if I believe him but it scared me.
Hahah, and one of my buddies told me a story when he went there with his girl one time and he said some demon or some shit jumped across the path, and scared the shit out of him. He took off without his girl(she chased him) and he ate shit and got dirt in his mouth, he felt so bad for leaving her, but he said he was so scared, he admits it could have just been a deer. But it's so funny he ran off with out her and ate it.

K. So it took me an hour and a half to read that cave story. What was so scary about it? I mean it was suspensful but it wasn't as horrible as people made it sound...whatever. Some of the stories in the thread are scarier than that story :/

When I was like 7 or 8 I kept hearing stuff from my basement like slamming and that kind of shutdown I went up to the door and reached for the handle and as soon as I was about to grab the handle the door swung open and the corner of it hit me in the forehead..... My dad was doing the laundry and I didn't know he was home lol I still have a deep scar on my forehead but it was scared as fuck until I realized it was just my dad lol

I have a few scary redneck experiences, but I'll post them later on. These stories are about my grandma, she's had quite a few sketched out paranormal experiences.

1. When my mom was being born, my grandma almost died in labor. She said that she felt like she was floating above her body and looking down on what was happening. She could hear the doctors saying that she was almost gone, and to save her. She heard a man's voice tell her to come with him, it was time to go, but she said she had to stay there for her daughter, my mom. So after everything is back to normal and she's 100% fine again, she asked the doctors what happened, they told her that she flatlined and stopped breathing for a minute or so, she then told them exactly what she saw, dialogue and all, this pretty much blew them away, as it was exactly what the doctors had said. Pretty crazy to me.

2. One night after a get together at her work, she was walking to her car with a few coworkers. She said that she saw an Indian chief, wearing full on war paint and the headdress and everything. She told her coworkers and they said she was seeing stuff. A few days later a few more people saw the same thing. The creepy part is that her work was digging up an old indian graveyard to put in a new building. Weird.

3. My grandma was sitting at home watching TV when my mom was about 18 or 19. She said that all of a sudden she heard a voice out of nowhere that her daughter was going to get paralyzed. She swore that she heard it and just broke down crying. A few hours later my mom came home safe. My grandma thought that she was going insane and only told her husband about the voice. A few weeks later, my grandma got a call from the hospital saying that my mom had gotten into a car crash and was paralyzed, never going to walk again. The voice was right.

I know that this is a bit of a long read so sparknotes:
1. My grandma had an out of body experience, came back, and told the doctors what happened.
2. Saw the ghost of an indian at her work, which was digging up an indian graveyard.
3. My grandma pretty much knew that my mom was gonna get paralyzed.

I've had a few ghostly experiences and kinda liked it, i find it really interesting. Its such a crazy thing. But my first one was when i was really little. I was sleeping in the top bunk in a room a shared with my little brother, he was gone this night so i was alone. I was in a pretty deep and sound sleep, untill i woke up to what sounded like a raccoon in my closet. I sat up and just stared, then this man walked strait through my closet doors in full army gear. Walked just like was in the military straight through my room. He walked rite past my bed and stopped and looked rite at me as he passed, then just walked through the wall and was gone. the funny thing is i wasnt scared at all for some reason, after he left i just rolled over and went back to sleep.

One of my best friends parents own this old ass building in our town called the Bissman building. Named after them obviously. Anyway its very haunted and we hang out there a lot and spray paint the wall on the 4th floor. The 3rd floor is the most haunted so we always here a ton of stuff, little knocks, foot steps, people talking, just about every experience you could have with out seeing a ghost. Its pretty chill there besides the sounds they make while im there, but i honestly think they like us because weve been going there since 8th grade. (i graduated in 2010). But every time a tour goes through there or ghost hunter, they get a lot of action. sometimes bad action, there seems to be a few evil spirits roaming around in there. All the ghost tv shows have been there too, theres pics of them and autographs on the walls. I have a ton of stories from there but im not trying to drowned NS in any more txt then i already have unless people actually wana here a few stories.

A few weird things have happened to me over the years

So we used to have this security camera pointed at the front door of my house. It was pretty pointless honestly, but the tv was upstairs so we could see who was at the door. One night I tuned it on and saw a completely dark figure walk up, try the door nob, and then walk away

One day I was falling asleep in my bedroom (on the first floor) and I had my window open because it was nice out. I heard footsteps crunching on the mulch outside. They stopped, and I swore I heard breathing. I lay frozen in bed, too scared to make a noise. The footsteps resumed, and faded away. Once I couldn't hear anything, I jumped out of bed and looked out the window to see if it was a deer or something, but there was nothing there.

My bedroom has a bathroom right next to it, and I heard what sounded like something dropping on the floor. I thought it was just soap falling in the shower, but everything was in order. I sit back down at my desk and I hear it again. This happens 2 more times that night.

When I was really little I was sleeping in my parents bedroom (also on the ground floor) and I woke up early in the morning because I heard two knocks on the wall. As I raise my head to see what made the noise, a hooded figure moves past the window. Picture what a nun wears, but with a black cloth on the front too.

One time me and a bunch of friends were in his garage at the 11:00, and all of a sudden we see someone run by outside. so we go out and see. we see this shadow of a little kid standing at the end of the street holding a teddy bear, so we yell at him and he stops, looks at us, laughs one of the scariest laughs every ( straight out of a scary movie) so we chase him and he turns the corner and we loose him. so we are walking back to my friends and we see someone moving in their driveway through the cars, we think it one of our friends, but it moves more and its the kid. so we yell and chase him. he tries to pick up one our bikes but sees us and runs and turns the corner. so we all decide to split up and look for him. so after about 10 minutes we see our friends flippin out. they say they chased the kid and he said "hey why are you being mean to me" we were all right by they house where they saw him. so we go look. nothing. we were only gone for about 5 seconds so he couldnt have gone far. So we wait outside, and start thinking our friends were kidding. then we see a face watching us from the upstairs of this house where they saw him. Hes sees that we see him and closes the blinds. So a little bit later the kid runs out of the front door and we chase him and corner him in someones drive way and say " what are you doing?" and he hides something behind his back and runs to his house and slams the door. Scary as fuck! And do his parents now care he was like 5 and its 11-12 at night.
Not really a ghost story but scary as FUCK.

Oh and i have some more, so my mom has told me these stories about when she was a kid she would always have these scary dreams about these sketchy stairs and door. and she would have them every night for a week or so. So awhile ago were watching a scary movie and shes like" Oh my god that looks just like the house in my dreams..... and she said there was a huge front door with double doors, then it shows the front door, exactly like she described. so were all scared to shit and she explained most of the house to us and it was exactly like her dream. possibly the scariest thing ever!

Then this chick i know lives out in the middle of no where and she has a long drive way. well her and her friends were outside jumping on their trampoline, and went in and the nest morning the trampoline was on the other side of their yard and on the other side of their pond.

And lastly my me and my friend and his sister, and sisters fiance are all in the hot tub talking about scary stories for hours, so we were sketched out. so his sister and fiance leave and were just chillin and all of a sudden he says "you feel that?" im like feel what? he tells me to be quiet. And then their dogs star barking and flipping out. and his ipod we were listening to paused and the screen kept turning off and on and we werent close to it. Then everything stops and he was saying he felt something hitting the bottom of the hot tub and grabbing his leg. and it wasnt his sister/fiance because they were gone so scary as fuuuuuuck for us

Semi long, but definatly worth the read.

so reading this thread just made me remember my experiences in my friends house:
So about 2 years ago, i lived in Colorado springs in a pretty nice neighborhood. My best friend lived right down the street from me and we would hang out basically everyday. It all started in 6th grade. Me and him basically told his little sister that a evil clown named "bobo" lived in his basement in a room at the end of this creepy ass hallway just to scare her. Well making Bobo also started to scare the hell out of us too. One day we were just chillin in his basement playing Supersmash bros (the best game of all time by the way), and we look down the hallway and we see the handle turn slowly until halfway and his dog starts barking (dogs are suppose to be able to sense paranormal stuff, right?). We immediately run straight up stairs with out even looking at eachother. We then decided it would be a good idea to get his BB guns and go investigate, but all we found was a closet full of dolls his mom collected. We would tell this story to everybody who would come hang out in his basement with us for about a year. Fast forward a 2 years, and me and him are 8th graders now. We kind of got over the whole "clown" thing, but i still refuse to walk down that hallway. Well all of a sudden strange things start happening in his basement. i was at his christmas party when all of a sudden i see a black shadow figure walking across the hallway wearing a top hat and has red eyes. I wasnt actually that scared, because i thought it was just a figment of my imagination. a week goes by and 3 people at the party and his bigger brother tell my friend how they saw the same thing i did, so clearly not part of my imagination.
HERES WERE IT GETS WEIRD:
He googles this, "shadow people", and he finds a ton of websites describing these "shadow people"[IMG]ghost-hunting-equipment.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/shadowpeople.jpg[/IMG]note how one is wearing a top hat, like how we all described. none of us have ever heard of shadow people before this.

2 DAYS LATER:
His little sister runs up stairs screaming and crying;because she had a vision. She collapsed on the ground and stood up to see the shadow man standing straight in front of her and dead bodies all around her. Creep huh?

Not my stories, but my mom has told me a few.

First, one time my mom and my grandma were at a mall in Ottawa, (the Saint-Lauren center for people from there), and they were just chilling, talking on the escalator. When all the sudden they notice the a middle aged going up the escalator on the other side. She described them as being "an even t-shirt grayish colour". Her and my grandma were really sketched out and just looked at each other, never saying anything. They didn't speak about it until a couple months later, they were watching some show about people that had an alien encounters. They were being interrogated by gray people described to be the same as the couple they saw. It still frightens my mom, thinking about it.

She said, "something about the way they looked, and the vibes as they went were very unearthly and unnatural".


this isn't really a ghost story but, one time, when my mom was eightish. She had a dream where she was in a tunnel, that went under a river (i forget which one). Her dad was driving, and then the tunnel started cracking, and filling up with water. As she felt like she couldn't breath she woke up.

Months later that tunnel collapsed and, i believe twenty? people died. I wish i had an article to back this up, but as i said i don't remember the name of the tunnel. It was somewhere in the ottawa/montreal area though.


Also one time when i was little, i was messing around in the kitchen, playing with my lego. When my mom walked in to the kitchen she noticed, that our kitchen smelt just like my great grandmothers kitchen. It was just like when she would sit down in her kitchen, to eat and talk. it was a really unique smell. Kind of like new plastic, but very distinct. She got freaked out and even called my dad at work about it. 3 days later my great grandmother had a stroke, and passed away soon after.
