Ultimately, skiing is a subjective sport. If you ignore racing for a second, then if you want to have contests, you have to have judges. In the case of X Games Real Ski, the judges had the unenviable task of picking a top three from six insane street edits. Edits put together by masters of the craft. And for arguably the first time, you could make a case for any of the six competitors taking the win. I've certainly heard arguments for every one of the six taking a medal. Luckily, X Games had put together just the panel for the occasion, headed up by none other than the Pretzel Man (Tom Wallisch) himself, one of the greatest street skiers of all time. Joining him were Mike Hornbeck, LJ Strenio, two more legends and ex-competitors, and Josh Berman and Jeff Schmuck, industry stalwarts who have seen it all. Regardless of whether you agree with the results, and they aren't what I'd ultimately have picked, you have to agree that's a hell of a crew to argue with.
