About 2 weeks ago, Kevin Rolland sustained serious injuries while attempting to beat the world record quarterpipe air. He reached a height of approximately 12 meters, landing on his head and back. His injuries included a fractured pelvis, which required immediate surgery, as well as his head, ribs, lungs, spleen, and other internal organs sustaining serious trauma.
While Kevin is on the road to recovery, it's not going to be an easy journey. He must spend the next 45 days laying in bed at 45° to allow for proper healing. After that, doctors will assess his condition and move on from there.
On a more positive note, his son was born around the same time and, although bedridden, Kevin will be able to spend a lot of time with his son throughout the recovery process.
The big question on everyone's mind is, "Will he ever ski again?" Someone as tough as Kevin, it's hard to believe he won't be back but only time will tell. We wish Kevin all the best as he recovers.
