Words, photos:  ckoThursday, January 19, 2006The final 3 Qualifying heats for Slopestyle ran under snowy conditions in Vail today.  Again speed was an issue on the course with many of the competitors having to skip one of the two rail features in order to hit the first jump with a reasonable amount of confidence.  If we can get the results of qualifying in some sort of digital form I'll post them right away. Semi-finals and Finals are set for Friday so stay tuned...

  Wednesday, January 18, 2006Wednesday saw the first day of Slopestyle Qualifying for the 2006 US Open here in Vail, CO.  Weather was mixed, with the sun poking in and out all day and some fairly warm temps.  The course proved tricky with a lot of the athletes struggling with speed issues all day.  Thursday sees heats 3 through 5 which will finalize the lineup for Friday's semi-finals and finals.  We don't have the standings for the first two heats but I did take some shots of the action below.  We'll update results as soon as we can get them.
