The third stop of the Freeride World Tour is coming up this week at Vallnord-Arcalís Andorra. The competition weather window will be from March 1st to 7th and live streaming will be announced on their social media outlets and available on the FWT website.
In the past, Andorra has proven itself to be a playful terrain with huge potential for epic lines. Get ready to watch the skiers continue to slide down the mountain at lightning fast speeds through narrow chutes and harrowing cliffs over sharky waters.
The third competition is especially important because it is the elimination round. After Andorra, only the top twelve men and top six women in the rankings will continue on to compete in the last two stops of the FWT 2018. Unfortunately, Russian skier Ivan Malakhov, who is the current leader of ski men, is out for the rest of the season due to an injury sustained in Canada. This means that Logan Pehota will go into the competition ranked highest followed by Markus Eder and Kristofer Turdell. For the women’s ski rankings Arianna Tricomi is first in points, followed closely by Eva Walkner and Hazel Birnbaum. Jackie Paaso, an absoutle powerhouse on the skis, is also injured and will not be competing at the third stop.
The Vallnord-Arcalís Andorra stop will be no doubt be a spectacular stop to watch with all of the riders throwing down in order to keep their spot on the tour.
