The Meeting � A Celebration of Snow Film and
Culture in Aspen September 22-25, 2005
Aspen/Snowmass, CO. - This fall, Aspen/Snowmass will host one of the most
exciting and innovative events in the ski/snowboard industry. The Meeting, September 22-25, is an
industry-driven event bringing the snow-crazed local community the new crop of
ski/snowboard films from producers such as Poor Boyz, Level 1, Standard Films,
Teton Gravity Research, and 1242 Productions & The Community.
The
film showings will be surrounded by parties and events with the top ski and
snowboard pros featured in the films, the film makers themselves, and other
industry influencers discussing trends and stories behind this year�s features.
�The
industry needs a pre-season gathering that matters,� said David Perry, Senior
Vice President, Aspen Skiing Company. �This is the time of year that the
anticipatory energy for winter is starting to peak - the perfect time for the
cultural icons of the industry to show their best work.�
The
weekend is a kick-off to winter and a sneak preview of the films the world will
see on tour. All movie showings are open to the public at various venues around
Aspen including Aspen�s historic Wheeler Opera House and Belly Up, Aspen�s
newest hot spot.
The
Sky Hotel (http://www.theskyhotel.com) will be
ground zero for the weekend, hosting a kick-off celebration, pool parties,
nightly bar gatherings and industry room rates.
Films
scheduled to be shown include both War and Pop Yer Bottlez! from Poor Boyz, Shanghai Six from Level 1, Paradox from Standard Films, The Tangerine Dream from Teton Gravity
Research and The Community Snow Project
from 1242 Productions & The Community. A complete schedule of films will be

The
Meeting will give everyone
the chance to check out the top ski and snowboard films of the year and serve as
an early season gathering of the top players in the industry. For more
