The Solid Seven will be a whenever the hell I feel like it article series detailing 7 solid, not necessarily great, skiing related topics. Whether it is 7 questions with everyone's favorite pro Jason Arens *cough* finish the damn interview *cough* (yes it's still not done yet), 7 epic BC jump shots, or the 7 gnarliest bails from the previous month, just know I'm doing you a solid.
It's that time of year again. IF3 just finished, livers are recovering, and ski premieres are popping off all around the country showing off the hard work from crews around the globe. Here are the 7 to watch this Fall. (Note; I wasn't at iF3 this year so I have only seen Small World and We Trust Your Judgement.)
1. Level 1: Small World

Diverse locations? (Midwest resort segment, what up!) Check. Super rad crew of skiers? Check. Film of the Year at iF3? Check! Level 1 threw a lot of people a curveball this year by not releasing a trailer until after a 30 day countdown of epic Instagram clips and mixing up the movie format. Regardless, if you can only buy 1 film this year, this is the one.
2. Superproof: Masquerade
https://www.newschoolers.com/videos/watch/779129/THE-MASQUERADE--2015--OFFICIAL-TRAILER
After taking home iF3's Best Big Mountain Film and Best Cinematography awards, Sean Pettit and gang have shown that they are a force to be reckoned with. Following up their debut film The Recruitment, the Masquerade follows their story driven film formula there is no doubt it is one of the best movies this year.
3. TGR: Paradise Awaits
The all-star crew of Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, Ian McIntosh, Tim Durtschi, Angel Collinson, Nick McNutt, & more star in Paradise Awaits which chronicles the ups and downs of the winter that was oh so elusive. TGR never disappoints. Ever. Buy this movie.
4. Nimbus Independent: After the Sky Falls

Eric Pollard, Chris Benchetler and Pep Fujas. What more needs to be said about this 2 year project from Nimbus than this is what skiing is all about? "It is simply a film that documents the Nimbus crew’s unique approach to skiing, and their focus on fun and creativity." I couldn't have said it any better.
5. We Are The Coterie: We Trust Your Judgment
https://www.newschoolers.com/videos/watch/781273/We-Trust-Your-Judgment-OFFICIAL-TRAILER
Fresh out of Park City, The Coterie is comprised of Jacob Callaghan, Mitch Brower, Jonah Williams, and Dylan Manley, to name a few. Having gotten an early access copy a month before the iF3 premiere, I sat down with a cold one and watched some of the most fun and well told stories in a ski movie. Spanning trips from Korea, Japan, to the Midwest, and back home to Utah, the Coterie boys are going to be an exciting crew to keep tabs on in the future! Stay tuned for their digital release coming soon.
6. Good Company: Episode 2
https://www.newschoolers.com/videos/watch/778480/Good-Company-Two-Teaser
Tom Wallisch & crew have been dropping bombs all over the internet with each Good Company episode and number 2 was no different. Based around the simple concept of good friends traveling and skiing together, Good Company brings you amazing ski action in an entirely new format.
7. Hoodcrew: Boolers Ball
https://www.newschoolers.com/videos/watch/785198/The-Boolers-Ball---HOODCREW-2015-Teaser
Hoodcrew's latest film takes an unfiltered look into the lives of THC and trust me, it gets rowdy. I'll let the boys takeover on describing the film, "Imagine space jams meets shinefest and gives birth to a fucked up Quinten Terrintino black sheep baby. There will be enough drugs sex and skiing to fulfill even your weirdest off season fantasies in this 1 folks! Stay safe out there boys n girls!"
