I haven't updated this thing in pretty much ever, thought i'd give it a whirl.
As you can tell from the picture up there, well, im not so good at this whole "newschool skiing" thing. Hence the name. Last year, i progressed enormously compared to the previous year (the year of my skiing videos in ye here profile) but failed to document it.
So, here we are, one season later and with a season hiatus of footy. But things are about to change.
This year, through a huge stroke of kindness from other parties who will remain nameless menaing that this run on is to avoid name dropping, i have managed to get a hold of a brand new setup:
If any of you remember what i had last year (K2 Poachers and none of the expensive gear), then you realize what a huge step this is for me. You guessed it: i am now, officialy, a professional poser. Actually, it means no more renting, no more getting used to the ski your skiing for the week, meaning a better experience on the slope. For a dude that gets 10 days a year, that can mean a whole lot.
Great, so now i have the gear, now i need the skills. Well, i figure, if i can't do much, i might aswell learn one banger. I've been focused on backflips for about 8 years now. It all started when i saw my friend Allan Niles do one, live, when i was 9. I've been wanting to do one for so long, but i was a huge wuss.
And now for my segway: i was told by Joel (lanks to you poor souls) that gainers were key to his learning of backflips. So gainers became the focus. And lo and behold, last week, i learned my first gainer.
I have been training in the pool, to get some air sense and muscle memory going into this season. I ahve never been more confident in my acrobatic ability, and im hoping to nail some flippage this year on the new planks.
I saw Bishop post a video player, so i hope it works here: my first filmed session at the pool this year, with the elusive first gainer:

If that didn't work, then go here:http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2063550097169280639&sourceid=docidfeed&hl=en
Im so stoked on skiing this year. Thank you to my sponsors, once removed, and may everyone out there remember: one love, skiing.
Peace,
Patty
