On the 25th and 26th of April, the world’s freeskiing elite will convene to compete on Jesper Tjäder’s ultimate course at the much-anticipated Red Bull Unrailistic event in Åre. X-Games and Olympic medalist Jesper Tjäder promises an array of even more audacious and sizable rails designed to push the limits of participants, including stars such as Tom Wallisch, Matěj Švancer, and Henrik Harlaut.

Jesper Tjäder, renowned for his creative approach to skiing, first disrupted the sport with the release of the Unrailistic edit in 2015, unveiling a dream park filled with never-before-seen rails. Since its inception, the concept has evolved from films to an open invitation for friends to test his course, culminating in last spring's launch of the official competition Red Bull Unrailistic. As the competition enters its second year, Tjäder's ambitions remain sky-high.

"My goal is to construct the ultimate course. We're bringing back some old favorites, but also introducing new rails that the world has yet to witness. We aim for larger, wilder features that challenge the boundaries of what’s possible in the sport," states Jesper Tjäder.

This year's course showcases several crazy features unprecedented in competitive settings:

Rollercoaster Rail:

Inspired by a street recording, Tjäder envisions this rail as a way to “go from zero to a hundred in seconds, providing an unusual and thrilling start to a slopestyle run,” according to Tjäder.

• Dance Floor:

An 8-meter-wide by 12-meter-long flat box resembling a dance floor, where skiers can slide across in various positions before launching off the edge. Spectators at the nearby bar are in for a treat, with potential for witnessing feats like a seal slide followed by a frontflip.

• Flat Down:

This extraordinary rail spans an impressive 56 meters, offering an alternative to the Dance Floor.

• Shootout Rail:

“This feature combines a shootout rail with a trampoline, allowing for a standard rail jump or a playful bounce if less speed is taken. It’s an experimental concept that I’m excited to see in action,” says Tjäder.

• The Wave:

“It’s a pond skim with an emerging wallride wave. Competitors can either rail atop the wave or ride through it, adding a fun twist as the final feature,” Tjäder explains.

Enthusiasts of last year's event will be pleased to see the return of the crowd-pleaser Rainbow Rail.

A technically demanding course requires skilled riders, and Red Bull Unrailistic does not disappoint. Last year's champion Andreas Håtveit will return to defend his title. He will be joined by other talented skiers including Henrik Harlaut, Jennie-Lee Burmansson, Matěj Švancer, and Tom Wallisch. For a full list of the riders, please visit: LINK
