Puget Sound Athlete Management Signs Skier Joss Christensen
Puget Sound Athlete Management (PSAM) releases its latest addition to its athlete team, skier Joss Christensen.
At just 18 years of age, Joss has gone toe-to-toe with some of the industry’s heaviest hitters, and ousted them from podium positions in both slope-style and super-pipe competitions around the globe. His most recent accolade came in the way of a 2nd place finish at the World Skiing Invitational in Whistler, British Columbia this past April.
“Joss has placed himself among a small group of athletes who excel in multiple disciplines,” said PSAM owner Zach Davison. “Seeing a kid on the podium in top events for both slope and pipe during a season is virtually unheard of, and the rarity of such an instance shows just how difficult it is to achieve this incredible feat.”
Despite back-to-back podiums at both 2009 and 2010 at the Dumont Cup, an appearance in Rage Films’ 2009 film “Pretty Good” and an exponentially growing internet fan base, Joss has somehow managed to dodge the spotlight.
It wasn’t until early this past spring that Joss began receiving significant media attention. In its February 2010 issue, Powder Magazine listed Joss as one of the top 20 most talented skiers in the world under the age of 18.
“Working with PSAM will allow me to get on a path that helps achieve my goals,” said Christensen. “Everything from planning, organizing, and making sure I am focusing on the things that will further my career as a professional athlete- it’s exciting and relieving.”
Look for Joss at the 2010 Dew Tour Qualifiers in Breckenridge, CO, as well as other competitions around the world.
