Last year we told you about a brand-new contest at Roundtop Mountain Resort in Lewisberry, PA called King of Jib. King of Jib was a grassroots effort orchestrated by Roundtop Mountain Resort Park Manager Matt Stambaugh to develop a landmark contest for the Mid-Atlantic region. With the help of a few generous sponsors Matt was able to organize a contest with a $3000 cash purse, and over 80 local and regional athletes from Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and Vermont were in attendance to make King of Jib a very successful event in its first year.

We are stoked to announce that 2014 will be yet another landmark year for King of Jib, as the cash purse has been doubled, and the stakes are higher than ever before for a contest in the region. On Saturday, February 22nd riders in open skiing and snowboarding divisions will take part in a freestyle rail contest to compete to win a chunk of a $6000 cash purse, and a shot to be crowned the next King of Jib.

The 1st place skier and boarder will both be awarded $1500, $750+product for 2nd place, $300+product for 3rd place. Riders can expect a freestyle jam format in the newest park to Roundtop, the "J-Bar Park" (dubbed the "Jark" by local riders) which is essentially a plaza-esque j-bar serviced rails park, so no hiking will be necessary in this jam format contest.
