The sun has set on Boreal’s 4th Annual Jibassic Pro Invitational. Over 3,000 spectators were in attendance strolling though the sponsor village, shredding the public jib area, purchasing last chance discounted season passes and cheering on the pro’s as they threw down. Chas Guldemond, Mike Hornbeck and Travis Kennedy are just a few of the elite rider’s who competed for a piece of the $6000 purse, airline tickets from Southwest and $100 bills from FUEL TV.As the sun began to fall behind the mountains, the public made their way over to the Pro Jib area with the skier portion opening the event. Skier Tom Wallisch stood on the top spot of the podium scoring $2,000 and two Southwest Airline tickets. John Strenio spun his way down the staircase to take 2nd and Dylan Curry in 3rd respectively. During a short intermission the park crew groomed the arena for the snowboarder portion of the contest while sponsors were throwing out a ton of swag.FUEL TV handed out $2,000 in cash to rider’s showboating for the crowd as well as hooking up a Tahoe local with a skate deck, while Dakine was handing outwear to a lucky few in the crowd. Moment Skis gave away a pair of skis to the best unsponsored skier throwing down in the event, and Snowbomb was throwing out hats, beanies, and sweatshirts.At the end of the evening, it was time for the snowboarder’s to lay it down and local Tahoe shredder, Andrew Brewer proved that he was the champ of the night taking home $2,000 and a couple of Southwest Airline tickets. Bode Merrill took 2nd while Forrest Baily rounded out the podium in 3rd. Many thanks to our announcers, Pat Bridges, Binky and Shawn Hartell.
