Eric Iberg grew up in Edina, MN, but there was no cake-eating in his life. It was all about skiing and baseball...and baseball didn't work out. This legendary filmmaker is also a true ski historian. He’s a creative who’s also a people person that used film-making as his launch into the ski world. Over the years, there were a lot of companies, movies and experiences…everything but a big payday for Eric and we talk about it all on the podcast.

Transcript from 52:46: Greatest Skiers Ever

Mike: If you look at the best three skiers of all time, in my opinion, just based on skiing. Not marketing, not emotionally or anything. I mean, Candide: I think everybody's kind of in that realm but then I put Tanner in right there at #2, based on the way he could ski contest, the way he can ski Urban way, the he can ski big mountain, he can do them all in the top 1% which is really hard for people. and I say Sammy's in that realm right now too.

Iberg: You're saying of all time right now? You're putting these three humans as the all-time?

Mike: In terms of ski ability and different categories of skiing. I mean you could put Seth and Sammy on a big mountain line, that's Seth's realm but Sammy's still pretty good.

Iberg: I think you named the three people. I mean all of them have proven themself in urban, competition, big air, slopestyle. I mean the only thing that Sammy probably hasn't done is halfpipe.

Mike: That's why he's number three on my list.

Iberg: And I think like the Tanner-Candide thing, the only reason Candide is there [as number one] is because of the world freeride tour which makes him a 'real skier'...

Mike Powell has been around the ski game for longer than most. He spent 16 years at K2 Sports, managing some of the sport's biggest names, creating content and organizing events such as the Back 9 and Kamp K2. In his own words he's been spending his time "working his ass off for the love of sliding snow". His new podcast series, The Powell Movement, features some of the all time legends of skiing, in the form of both athletes and industry folk. We're stoked to partner up with Mike and present The Powell Movement's ski episodes (it also deals with snowboard and other action sports) to the world.
