High Five Festival returns to Annecy, France this fall and it's going to be a big year. From its origins as a pure skiing affair, it has grown to accommodate snowboarding, music, and now mountain biking, mountaineering, and more. The first point of order is to save the dates: Sept 30th - Oct 2nd.
More than 20,000 people enjoyed the festival last year with screenings in both the massive Pathé movie theater and at the outdoor venue by the lakeside. Between the venues, there were more than 100 movies on show. The event grows again to include more outdoor sports, which will make up 20-30% of the final offering.
Submissions are open now, and remain open until July 15th. For those who don't like to scroll too far... here's where you submit your movie: if you have produced a movie/ short film / documentary / web series, Pro or Am, and you would like to screen it at the HIGH FIVE FESTIVAL:
Simply follow the above link below to submit your registration on the FILMFREEWAY platform by simply creating your account and submitting your project to the HIGH FIVE page. It’s very simple and will take a maximum of 10 minutes. In order to have the best possible chance of selection, it's best to submit as much content as possible for the committee to review (preview, raw cut, timeline, teaser, trailer…) and, you can submit any/all of these either via a link or a direct upload.
The selected movies will be announced by August 1, 2022, for both the Indoor Cinema Screenings (11 screenings, about 60 movies), as well as those for the growing Outdoor Screenings which will be held within the Village. All selected entries will also be considered for the Golden High Awards. The Awards show will be held Thursday, Sept 29th (the night before the festival officially starts) in front of 600 guests and will also be streamed live for the first time.
The festival is a unique experience, it's not often you get that many skiers in one place... and the parties are insane so we'd highly recommend you make the trip, especially if you've never done so before because this year will be a crazy one. And there's nothing like watching incredible films on a big screen with a noisy crowd.
