In a surreal turn of events that has left Swiss skiers perplexed, the ski resorts of Zermatt and Saas Fee in Switzerland, which have until now been experiencing some of the most brutally hot summers ever, have done their best to disprove global warming and giving us all some hope, experiencing an unexpected snowfall. Just last week, Europe's hottest summer on record had tourists sizzling with temperatures soaring into the 100s. However, the weather gods clearly have a twisted sense of humor.

With a comedic touch, Zermatt and Saas Fee woke up this morning to a winter wonderland which is Mother Nature's way of saying, "They don't know me, son!" Approximately half a foot of snow has blanketed these famous resorts, leaving us all to wonder what all the climate clamor is all about.

It's as if the mountains are rolling their eyes at our pathetic attempts to predict their behavior and exclaim, "The planet is on fire". Our Editor-in-chief did a double take this morning, donning snow boots for a surprise sunny walk to the gym for pre-season preparations. It seems the weather patterns are taking a page out of a choose-your-own-adventure book, flipping to a chapter no one saw coming.

If you don't believe us, check out the webcam footage from Saas Fee and Zermatt to see the August winter wonderland.

Despite these unpredictable weather patterns and the sudden rush to dig out warmer layers, there are positives to take away. The snowfall might be the plot twist these glacier resorts needed to get through the back end of the summer ski season. With Zermatt and Saas Fee's glacier skiing options, this unlikely event could stretch out the skiing season. So if you've ever dreamt of getting some sunny laps in at the infamous Snowpark Zermatt and have been put off by the somewhat brown and sad state of affairs. Well, your dreams might just be coming true.

Is this definitive proof that climate change is all a bunch of nonsense? No. Is it the best storm the Swiss Alps will see all season? Probably. Is the planet still fucked? Yes.

But hey, there's more skiing to be had right now so grab your gear and get after it!
