Gus Kenworthy has posted on twitter that he broke his thumb in yesterday's slopestyle practice. He will "obvi" still be competing in this weekend's slopestyle competition, however. In high apparently high spirits Gus' twitter post took a jab at Vice President Pence, known for his opposition to LGBT people, saying "it does prevent me from shaking Pence's hand so... Silver linings!"

In 2014 Nick Goepper was unable to comfortably ski with poles after wrist injuries, and he managed to come away with the bronze medal. We will see if Gus decides to drop the poles, and also if he will be able to overcome this injury to defend his silver medal.
