For the first time in some years, the little corner of the Alps that's home to Zermatt (& Saas-Fee), the continent's summer skiing capitals, has had a good winter. Big storms and a cold, wet spring mean the snowpack is in better condition than it has been for some time and the result is banger conditions on the glaciers (the downside is floods and landslides but for skiers, it's a boon). As an indicator of the snowpack, for those who know what this means, you can still ski all the way down to Trockener Steg making getting home fun too.

The jumps are in prime condition for the moment with two medium jumps down the center of the park with pretty good speed (think cork 7s etc not doubles) and there is a stacked rail garden out left. I'd love to see some sort of challenge rail put in, but as it is now, the park is cruisy and fun. The Z-tube (aka Clinci rail) returns once more and the booster rails at the bottom of the park are probably the most fun features... aside from the snow itself, which is perfect summer slush right now.

Past winters have made it a challenge to keep the park going through the summer but this year there's a good snow base, which should keep the park in good shape all summer long. The vibe this summer is on point too with Zermatt apparently banning FIS race teams, so the whole atmosphere is much more relaxed on the glacier. We do miss Shred Coffee but that aside, summer is looking good. Expect to see a lot of summer bangers from those baby blue tubes on your feed because the crew is growing and the park is a ton of fun.
