Faction has signed a 5-year deal with a commitment to support the 14-year-old student from Estonia in her dream of becoming the best freestyle skier in the world.
At 14-years-old, Kelly is the youngest winter X Games gold medallist of all time and already a regular atop the most competitive podiums in the international freeskiing circuit. Growing up in Estonia, Kelly started skiing aged two. A winning combination of drive, unique talent and a true love for skiing, Kelly has risen through the ranks, wowing the action sports community and landing some of the most progressive tricks in women’s freeskiing.
“Kelly has already shown the world that even if you are from a small country where the tallest mountain is 300 meters high you can ski, you can create your own urban or mountain playground, and with dedication even rise to be amongst the best in the world,” Alex Hoye, Faction co-founder and CEO said. “We’re convinced that Kelly’s journey has only just begun and we’re thrilled to invite her to The Faction Collective.”
"Everything is exciting about joining Faction!” comments Kelly Sildaru. “Great skis, good vibe, awesome team, and all the amazing things that we can do together in the future!”
Kelly will also become a centrepiece in Faction’s growing media platform, showcasing her and her brother Henry’s talents alongside Faction athletes including Candide Thovex. With her eyes set on the world’s biggest competitions, Kelly will take Faction’s skis to the highest level of competition from the X Games to the Olympics.
“We got to know the Sildarus over the years, from comps in France to trees in Japan, and the attitude the whole family brings to the sport is straight from the heart.” comments Alex Hoye. “We will be right there supporting Kelly as she realises her dreams of becoming one of the best skiers in the world.”
10-year-old Henry has also been welcomed to the Faction team. Fixated on skiing since he first learnt to walk, this grom is already showing incredible talent as he follows in his big sister’s tracks. Henry is excited to progress and ski the whole mountain, and will be the little one to watch over the coming winters.
