Ski Legend Dr. Robb Gaffney, passed away on September 22nd after fighting over a 4-year battle with acute myeloid leukemia, Gaffney's brother, Scott posted on Instagram sharing the news on Saturday morning.
In a Caring Bridge update last weekend, Scott shared that Robb's body was no longer responding to Chemo treatment, and he had been released from the hospital to return to Tahoe for his final days.
Gaffney will be remembered for his immeasurable impact on the ski community— as the author of 'Squallywood' and along with Shane McConkey, creating the game G.N.A.R., which later became a full-length film.
A recent Instagram post by MSP shared the Tahoe Icon's segment in the 2001 film 'High Society'.
The Newschoolers community sends our support to the Gaffney family and Tahoe Community at this time. You can donate directly to the Gaffney family on GoFundMe.
Ski In Peace Rob, a true legend.
