Superpipe finals never fail to be full of gnarly sends and this year's Dew Tour Final was no different. With the added heat of Olympic points to be had this was no different. The sun was out after a couple of delays and the pipe was running as perfect as can be, this was set to be a much more entertaining watch than qualifiers.

Run 1:

A stream error meant we missed Simon D'Artois, Hunter Hess and Birk Irving's first runs; Birk put one together scoring 85.50, Simon Crashed out and Hess scored 73.00 for provisional 3rd. Alex Ferreira had a bobble on a huge left dub 14 docking his score. Aaron Blunck went huge on his first hit, right dub 1440 blunt and somehow held onto, but washed out on his sw dub down the pipe. Currier back to back 9s, switch then regs, with a dub left 12 and a left dub 14 in there. Brendan Mackay had back to back switch doubles, and an unnatural dub 12 for 91.50 and a temporary spot at the top of the leaderboard. Nico Porteous went for back to back switch doubles out of the gate but hip checked on the second making this run a throwaway. Noah Bowman took his pure style to the ditch, the Bone Air is just perfect, had a wobble on the right side double and got docked hard for it. David Wise went down on his 4th hit switch double, a throwaway for the veteran.

Run 2:

Hunter Hess has a 10 nose in the pipe that is probably my favourite looking halfpipe trick of Dew Tour, he failed to improve his first run score but has been looking good with a dope left dub 9 axes for the final hit. Simon D'Artois hasn't been skipping leg day because he held onto all 3 of his huge double, right dub 12, left dub 10 and left dub 12, he lost some points for his landings though. Alex Ferreira put down his run perfectly, landing high on the wall and going huge out of the pipe. A dope combo of left dub 14 straight to switch right dub 12 was executed perfectly. A well deserved 94.75 put Ferreira out front. The bar was well and truly set now. Aaron Blunck laced 4 back to back dubs, kicking off with a 14 blunt - grab wasn't perfect - to switch dub 9. He earned 80.00 although Wallisch thought it was harsh. Brendan Mackay repeated his run aiming to clean up things up to bump Ferreira, he earned 92.25, some more breathing space to play with. Nico's run was set to be a podium winner, back-to-back switch dub 9s to back-to-back 16s, but he caught the wall on the second 16 a gold medal run in the making if he puts it down. David Wise showed his pedigree, with both way dub 12s and a right dub 14, enough for 82.75 and 4th.

Run 3:

Birk who had trouble in Run 2 also got a bit thrown on his first hit throwing away Run 3, still sat in 3rd at the start of the final run. Hunter Hess, who had been sitting in 6th came out hard, he wiffed the grabs on his first doubles and missed it on his final hit 16, a podium level run if he'd put it down cleaner but remained in 6th. D'Artois cleaned things up and locked in his grabs, enough to gain 6th, his alleyoop dub flat 9 was lovely. Alex Ferreira did right dub 16 tindy locked in, to left dub 14 with back to back 12s, Lui Kang on the last, some great old school steeze... 95.75 was gonna be hard to beat.

Blunck first his dub 14 blunt was perfect to switch left down the pipe dub 9 is so blind and stomped. Ferreira looked nervous after he saw the run but his last hit tail grab could have been locked for longer, he would have to settle for 94.00 and second. Lyman Currier took one right to the flat bottom which looked sore; he's had a great Dew Tour and looked awesome but failed to get a run down perfect. Brendan Mackway looked to be in a flow state cleaning up his run even more, amplitude and execution brought up. A few mistakes meant his 92.25 would be his best effort for the day with three big guns to drop their final runs; Porteous, Bowman and Wise his third place spot would be precarious. Nico Porteous nailled his left and right dub 16s but sketch in the rest of the run meant it wouldn't fly for a podium spot. Riders really had to nail it this afternoon. Noah Bowman does it the best but he lacked the technicality - still had a dub 14 in there - to challenge the podium and David Wise's efforts were only enough for 5th.
