The gossip that was buzzing around all summer is true, and here at last is the official statment: Colby James West has become the 2nd US member of the CoreUPT clan, giving the French freeski brand one more character on their team.
Colby's skills and results speaks for themselves. This past year Colby placed 3rd in X-Games Superpipe 2008, 4th in X-Games Slopestyle, 1st in US Open Big Air 2008, 1st in 48 Straight Sun Valley and Overall Tour Champion 2008, along with 3rd in X-Games Slopestyle in 2007 and 3rd US Open Halfpipe 2007. Not too bad, right?
But it was Colby's personaltity that played a great role in the deal and helped make it possible. And with the signing of Colby comes some additional big news, as he proudly presents the Urban Rise, his new pro model.
A halfpipe oriented ski that is fully versatile for park use as well, the Urban Rise is sharp on the wall and light in the air, with a graphic that illustrates American folklore with a 30’s New York design.
