Part 2 of our Canada adventure took us to Vancouver Island where I grew up as a kid.  I miss the lush green colors and the ocean, but most of all the salmon fishing in the late summer!  Fishing hasn’t been very good at times this year, unfortunately we were there when it was slow.  But that gave us the opportunity to catch some small cod and watch the eagles swoop in to snatch up a free meal…

One of the nicest beaches on Vancouver Island is on the west side of the Island just south of Tofino.  Long Beach is the perfect place to surf (in a wet suit) as it is rather foggy in August and quite chilly.
