The iF3 Movie awards are just around the corner, taking place at the first stop of the iF3 World Tour in Whistler - 19th-22nd of October. A record number of films were submitted this year, 110, the most in the festival’s 15-year history. This is a nice affirmation for fans of longer-form ski content. Giving us plenty to watch while we anxiously watch our nearby peaks or forecasts for the first signs of snow.
This year The Bunch, having already won Film Of The Year for Many Fantasies Later at the High Five festival in Annecy earlier this month are again nominated for Film Of The Year alongside Best Cinematography and Best Editing. They’re also in the Jury’s Pick category which pits films from both disciplines against each other. Many Fantasies Later has some serious potential to take a sweep of the awards albeit alongside some tough competition but could the ever-unique and creative filmmaking clean up?
We’re also keeping an eye out on for the award for Best Urban Segment with some heater segments, from MTL, CAST, Recipe and Why Not? All in the ring for the W.
This year’s panel of judges contains is made up of Jeff Schmuck (Head Judge), Will Wesson and Jaimie Yip.
