The World Ski and Snowboard Festival (WSSF) has a reputation. For partying. While many festival goers make their annual pilgrimage to Whistler for the sport, art, music and fashion celebrated during the 10 days of WSSF, others have one item on the agenda - to party in April and sleep in May. Lucky for them, WSSF has some of the hottest parties of the year lined up all day and all night from April 12 to 21, 2013. Here is the rundown:
The BEGINNING
The newest addition to the 2013 WSSF party schedule is The BEGINNING, a late night DJ and dancing extravaganza designed to kick of WSSF 2013 in style. Speaking of DJs,?uestlove (aka Questlove of The Roots fame) will be headlining the event, along with Humans, DJ Praiz and Mat the Alien.
Taking place in the Sea to Sky Ballroom at the Whistler Conference Centre on Saturday, April 13, The BEGINNING will set the tone for the week ahead at WSSF. Kicking off at 10pm and continuing long into the night until 4am the following day, The BEGINNING is sure to appeal to anyone from the most seasoned partiers to festival newbies. Tickets to The BEGINNING are $35 + tax and available for purchase to anyone over the age of 19 online at www.wssf.com/estore or at the Whistler Activity Centre.
The State of the ART Opening Party
Art enthusiasts get the jump start on the WSSF party circuit at the State of the ART Opening Party on Friday, April 12. State of the ART is an art exhibit located in the Whistler Conference Centre Grand Foyer and will run the entire 10 day duration of WSSF. There is no entry fee to attend the State of the ART exhibit or the Opening Party where guests will be able to enjoy drinks, chat with artists, and take in the amazing atmosphere of mountain art and creative culture. All of the one-of-a-kind works of art showcased at State of the ART will be available for purchase on site.
Those who cannot attend the Opening Party in person can still purchase a one of a kind piece of art at the State of the ART online store: http://artstore.wssf.com/]http://artstore.wssf.com/[/b].
The Powder Rocket Stage
No party is complete without good music, which is why the World Ski and Snowboard Festival will have free live concerts daily beginning at 11:30am at the Powder Rocket Stage. Located in Whistler's Village Square, the Powder Rocket Stage will feature acts such as; DJ Wake Up, Men of the West, DJ Herman, and local Whistler band, Brother Twang. The Village Square is at the heart of Whistler and is surrounded by shops, restaurants and patios. The music from the Powder Rocket Stage will set the background for the perfect coffee, late breakfast, or even for starting the party early with a caesar over lunch.

The Bud Light Après Series
Après is a popular tradition in the ski and snowboard culture and Whistler is well known for offering some of the best après around. Since WSSF is all about pushing the limits, it is only natural the après options would be kicked up a few notches during the festival. The Bud Light Après Series brings the party to Whistler's most iconic mountainside bars: The Longhorn Saloon from 3pm to 5:30pm and the Garibaldi Lift Company (GLC) from 5:30pm to 7pm on April 12, 13 and 14 and then again on April 19, 20 and 21. With a go hard or go home attitude, the Bud Light Après Series will have the drinks flowing, the music pumping, and the people dancing. Get the full list of DJs performing during the Bud Light Après Series at: http://www.wssf.com/event/bud-light-apres-series.
The Bud Light Freeride Club Series
During this year's World Ski and Snowboard Festival, Bud Light will also be quenching thirsts for live shows that take the party into the wee hours of the morning with the Freeride Club Series. Taking place nightly throughout WSSF, the Bud Light Freeride Club Series will feature the likes of Swollen Members, DiRTY RADiO, Arkells, and Beats Antique throwing down in select Whistler night clubs. The full Bud Light Freeride Club Series line up can be viewed at: www.wssf.com/event/bud-light-freeride-club-series. Age restrictions may apply.
The Bud Light Silent Disco
For those partygoers looking for a more unique experience, the Bud Light Silent Disco will be taking place at the Garibaldi Lift Company (GLC) on Friday, April 19. Headphones will be provided at the event so guests will have the option of listening to one of three DJs: DJ Canosis, DJ Dakota or Foxy Moron. At this "choose your own adventure" style party, all partygoers have to do is change the channel to listen to another DJ with a whole new style and energy. Adding an extra twist, when a break is needed to order a drink or chat with a friend, all guests have to do is take off the headphones and the room will be quiet – probably a first for many nightclub regulars! The dress code for the Silent Disco is all white and all partygoers must be over the age of 19 to attend. Tickets are now available for purchase in person at the Whistler Activity Centre.
Bud Light Presents The END
After all is said and done, there is one final party to cap off the 2013 World Ski and Snowboard Festival: The END on Saturday, April 20. The END, presented by Bud Light, brings WSSF full circle and takes place in the same spot as The BEGINNING, in the Sea to Sky Ballroom in the Whistler Conference Centre. This late night party starts at 10pm, goes until 4am, and will feature beats and visuals dropped by The Funk Hunters, Luke McKeehan and Neighbour. The END is one last opportunity to party like a rock star and wrap up the ski season with a bang. This final party has a minimum age of 19 and tickets are now available for purchase online at www.wssf.com/estore or in person at the Whistler Activity Centre. All proceeds will benefit Whistler's animal shelter, Whistler Animals Galore (WAG).
