While uncle Brian has been working on his tan and slashing a few last waves in Hawaii, the snow has been falling in the park, and the crew has been busy transporting rails up the mountain for the start of the season in the next few weeks.
Steve Petrie, Lucas and Anto from ASP have finished the main rail work. Steve also did some final grading in the pipe in anticipation of the arrival of the new global cutter. Steve is now working on a couple of new custom surprises from TELUS and Quiksilver in his new shop in Pemberton.
Fred Moisan have started making snow in the park on Blackcomb with our new auto tower guns, and the rest of the guns are out there and ready to go with the fall in temperature this coming week.
If mother nature come through, expect and early opening of the park on Whistler.
Think, dream snow, 19ish more sleeps.

Thanks everyone for a fantastic finish to the 2009 season. Summer Glacier season ended on July 26th with some very cool features added even before the last day. Camps including Camp of Champions and Momentum stepped it up this year with some great jump and jib features.
The two late spring parks on Whistler Mountain kept skiers and riders busy while the sun warmed up Whistler for one of the hottest seasons in recent history. Voleurz and Sandbox sessioned on the huge Emerald jump built by Anto Orts and Alex Iskat. Check out their teasers and official releases soon. Sandbox: Shine ON, Voleurz: Outdoor Graduation.
Thanks to the Grenade Games 5 crew for bringing their talent and skills to Whistler during the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival in late April which turned out to be an epic event. A huge thanks to James Sayers and all the Terrain Park Rangers for building some of the best parks we’ve ever witnessed at Whistler Blackcomb.
Look for some exciting features as we get prepped for the Olympic year in Whistler. The Nintendo Parks on Whistler and Blackcomb will be ready. Remember, your lift ticket includes unlimited rides on the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola which connects you directly to both Emerald and Catskinner parks; “PARK 2 PARKâ€Â.

Hello there all you loyal park riders. Thanks to Lucas Oulette, Kevin Charles Anderson, Brett Nakamoto, and a Bean for whipping up an impressive park for everyone to enjoy here late in the season. There was only 2 days to create it, which makes it almost mind boggling. We realize that most park riders are unfamiliar with our new location, but finding it is half the fun. Treat it like a scavenger hunt, if you’re don’t really know this part of Whistler Mountain. It is right at the top of the Upper Dave Murray Downhill Course (Red Chair Zone). That’s all were going to tell you.
The Park currently consists of 14 jibs and a gorgeous 35 foot booter. We still have a few tricks up our sleeves, so keep your eyes peeled!

Why don’t more places sell breakfast pizza? Don’t get me wrong, left-over pizza is a great breakfast. But it just makes sense to make a pizza with scrambled eggs, bacon, salsa and cheese if regular pizza is already a popular breakfast choice. That popped into my head after I slayed a good size piece of breakfast pizza and
The countdown is on and the party begins next Friday. The TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival kicks into high gear April 17-26, 2009. The only thing to do is get yourself to the centre of the action. Here are some highlight of what's on the adjenda, including some new events you'll want to check out...
My blog this week is your blog. Sit back and think about the epic pow days in your life or that down-flat-down or your first stomp; or maybe even the very first day you put skis on.
Hello all you inquisitive skiers and riders out there, finally, here is your Parks Report
What an insane couple weeks we've just had. Tons of powder, mad beanin, and perfect blue bird park days. What a great time to be up on the mountains. More sun in our forecast for this week to come as well.
Whistler
The upper jib-zone at the top of Emerald Chair is back in full effect. Up there we've got a Barrel bonk, 1 real low skate style flat bar, big down box and a skinnier down ledge and butter jib roller to finish it off. The Quarter, Log Stall is back up after the Chute jump (gap like last year – photos to come). Chipmunk has a new jump in the Medium line, along with a QP and Battleship rail at the end of the line. Bobcat still has all the little extras left over from the Slopestyle as well.

TELUS Ski and Snowboard Festival returns to Whistler April 17-26, 2009.
If you know Whistler or the West Coast in general, you know it doesn’t take long for the forecast to change around here. After a cold snap and little snow, one of the biggest dumps of the year slapped down on Whistler. As luck would have it, the fresh sky love happened to fall the day before my weekend, something like 15cm the first morning and 23cm the second morning.
Hey Jibbers and Jumpers,
The past couple of weeks in The Parks have been really exciting times for everyone. We’ve seen lots of sun and snow. Our Parks are now pretty much built to capacity, giving our teams the opportunity to really pimp out our features. We’ve been switching rails and jumps in and out to keep things fresh. Both mountains are changing daily. The Showcase Showdown this year was a huge success. Big shout out to Brad Broughton from the shop, and his team of volunteers for their help with design and building. The Atomic Supercross is this weekend; results to come.
On Blackcomb
The Snowcross track has a new line this year that everyone should check it out. The course is open daily.
The Highest Level, and Choker lines are riding perfectly every day, the lines are dialed right in nicely. The Highest Level is rounded out at the bottom by a massive re-entry platform with an Up-Rail to Wallride. The Choker line finishes with an awesome Quarter Pipe that is Zaugged daily.

Andrew Burns and Caley Vanular TAKE first place in Whistler Blackcomb's Showcase Showdown
Backyard slopestyle format brings the action to Whistler Mountain base.
Whistler Blackcomb's annual Showcase Showdown went off last Saturday as onlookers crowded into Skiers' Plaza
and onto patios to watch the action at the base of Whistler Mountain. After a hard fought battle, Caley Vanular
claimed first place in the women's category. Second place went to Molly Milligan and third went to Janelle Prtichard.
Meanwhile, Andrew Burns took first in the men's category, while Rusty Ockeneden claimed second place and
Mike Osachuk took third.
The six riders, who won a total of $5,000 cash and prizes from event sponsors, including Nixon headphones
and Sandbox helmets, will also be featured in Sandbox's next snowboard film "Shine On".
In its twelfth year, the Showcase Showdown has enjoyed another successful transformation and has proven
once again why Whistler Blackcomb's Nintendo Terrain Parks are ranked No. 1 in North America. This year's
course was inspired by the mini-parks in locals' backyards all over Whistler. The slopestyle course design,
which included rails and industrial-style jib features with happy faces, was a collaboration of Showcase
Team Manager Brad Broughton; Kevin Sansalone of Sandbox Films; Steve Petrie master park-builder and
designer and builder of the 2010 Olympic Halfpipe; and Whistler Blackcomb's Park Rangers.

“Awwww yeah, siiiick!!” played like a broken record in my head all day Sunday! This is what one would hear if they were in my head while skiing pretty much any pow day in Whistler I guess.
With 82 cms of fresh snow since Sunday, 5 cms overnight, and even more in the forecast, it's been one sweet week at Whistler Blackcomb. Check out this video from yesterday for some powder action.
