Over 75 of the best freestyler skiers gathered in The Telus Terrain Park at Silver Star Mountain for the 4th annual Showdown Throwdown Hoedown Slopestyle Shootout. The course was killer and the weather was equally as challenging. Speed was an issue on day one as an early morning snowfall had the competitors hunting for speed demons. Day two was the exact opposite as a strong tail wind had everyone trying to dump speed in order to avoid being launched to the bottom of the landings. The sun did come out and the super talented crew of skiers showed a slightly drunken crowd what it takes to be the champion of this high caliber event. Check it out. Photo By Tim Fitzgerald.
Take a look at some of the past Showdown, Throwdown Hoedown Slopestyle moments. The park crew and the events department have been going hard to prepare for the best STH yet! With great support from all of our sponsors the course and the event will be one for the books. Who will take home the $money$ (Photos By Tim Fitzgerald)
Well everybody, we are down to our last 4 weeks of the season and winter is coming on strong with over 60 cms in the past week. Powder days and park days in the spring.... What more could you ask for? The park is still growing and will continue to grow till the resort closes. Check out the photos of the park and take a sneak peak at the course for the 4th annual Showdown Throwdown Hoedown, Slopestyle which is shaping up to be one of the sickest events ever. The Course off the charts.....get ready to see some serious hammers thrown down. Joe Schuster was up the other day giving the new 70ft stepdown a run for its money!
Hello again everyone. Check it out, the 2nd 1516 Okanagan Springs Village Rail Jam @ Silver Star went down on Jan 24 under the lights. We had over 70 participants and the crowd was there in full force to keep everyone pumped up. The local talent was off the charts and so many tricks were executed to perfection. And to make the next day's hang over go away fast. everyone was treated to a world class performance by Silver Star's very own TJ Schiller taking the gold in X games skier slopestyle. Congrats TJ! Take a gander at the pics.

Well after a treamendous amount of snow and some really bad park conditions, the TELUS Park @ Silver Star is making a huge comeback. We are stuck in an Inversion which means cold and cloudy in the valley, but warm and sunny up in the park. Just look at how stoked the park crew is!
Well it's officially 2009 and winter @ Silver Star is rolling right along. With a slow start to December, Mother Nature and Old Man Winter finally hooked up and the results are un-believe-able! With over 100cms of new snow in the last 10 days and another 30 cms as of today. To top it off we are still under a snowfall warning for tommorow, the turns are DEEP! Now these may not be the best conditions for riding park, but don't be worried because the park crew has been digging out and have serious plans, plots and schemes for the next two weeks of building. With almost a 200cm base, the park features this year are going to be off the charts. Expect to see all the jib features installed this week, and the XL jump lane taking shape by the end of next week. I almost forgot, Dec 27th was the first of 3 Okanagan Springs Village Rail Jams and once again the park crew came to the table with an awesome set-up. To say the least what I saw that night was nothing short of spectacular! Check it out. All Photos By: Tim Fitzgerald
As we are all getting pretty stoked on the start of the winter shred season, the park crew has used the late arrival of winter to bang off some kick ass new and improved features. Some have been modified, while others are brand new. Check out the pics.
